Start cutting to fit instead of lifting. You'll have less hassle in the long run.

But you need to include alot of other info to help with the best option.

Intended use, street truck? Weekend fire road camper? Moderate trail use? Etc.....

Budget? There's a pile of other odds n e ds that go along with a lift that are over looked regularly. Angled shims, carrier bearing spacers, front clamshell bushing, uca's, alignment.

As for larger tires what wheels are you running? Alot of the time you will need spacers or different offset wheels in order to fit a 285 without hitting the uca or frame. There will be some required trimming and on odd occasions a cmc is needed if you can't optimize you alignment specs to clear. Add on a tune if you want any real enjoyable drivability.

My general advice to someone with an extra vague lift question is go get a 0 offset wheel toss on a 265/70r17 or a 265/75r16 and start there it will drastically improve the look of the truck for less cash and less problems.

second this, also be careful not to get a wheel with too much offset as that can cause rub too
