So I'm getting ready to do a lift. I already ordered Bilstein 5100s all around, headstrong 2" AAL, and the ECGS bushing and tool.

I didn't really have any concerns until today when in preparation I started reading threads on TW. I read a few too many with people reporting vibrations after the lift and bushing install. Something about driveline angles. I don't want to mess my truck up or sink more money into the lift. I was originally thinking 2" up front and 2" in the back. Should I change that idea and do 1" up front and 2" in the back, or should I do the Bilsteins with no lift, or am I just worrying for no reason (this is what I tend to do....)

Luck of the draw. I'm lifted 2.7" front / 4" rear and have no vibes.

@gavia if your scared go to church. Lol. Jk. I have a 6” lift and i love it. Just do it, you will be ok. I had a lil issue when I put together the trd pro grill w sensor but I was able to fix the problem. D69681B0-390F-4F33-827D-4468084F5737.jpg

Do you have the carrier bearing drop?

Vibrations occur in many spots, might need a carrier bearing drop, might need shims, might need bushing, might need nothing.

    no I don't - should I? I didn't think I would with a mild lift.

That’s why I’m going minimal lift. I got a Tacoma for reliability and longevity, diminishing returns, for me, with a bigger lift.

Not a bad idea....it is a cheap add-on. Single cab? Double cab?

Install the lift first. IF you get vibes, crawl under the truck and take a few inclinometer measurements and go from there:

Take a deep breath. A 2” front and 2-3” rear lift is a mild lift and it is reasonable not to expect to run into issues. YMMV. I would recommend a 2-3 degree shim under the rear leaf springs since you will be in there anyway for the AAL.

Just be aware, if you have an advanced driver assistance system you may need to calibrate the ADAS as the sensor settings are based on the stock parts/height of the truck. Worth looking into before you begin.

    2019 AC SR model.

I've got the SR model so it's limited to just the lane departure and adaptive cruise control... both of which I don't use.

You shouldn’t have any issue w sensor w that lift, my 6” lift has no issue. I can use cruise control and all that tech stuff, I do have the premium package so I have a that good stuff and runs and works like stock.

Have the King 2.5 bypass suspension lift with Total Chaos UCA's and I'm at just over 2-1/2" front and rear. No shims, no bushings, no carrier bearing drop and no vibrations. Guess I got lucky :)

Beautiful truck and love the color! Too bad Toyota stop making inferno red(orange) for 2109 Tacoma’s. I wanted one so bad and to find out it wasn’t available anymore.

A carrier bearing drop will at least lessen any aggressive angle of your driveshaft going to the rear and you might not have any vibes at all.

Thanks for the compliment. I was in love with this color when I saw first saw it on the 2015 TRD Pro. Found out they were discontinuing it after 2018 so I figured I better pull the trigger.
