So I have 2021 Tacoma SR5 2WD, currently has 265's and is stock from the lot, no lift, wanting to go up to 33's (295's), as a body armoresque front and rear bumper with light bar in front, and was looking into this setup: https://www.extremeterrain.com/roug...rear-leaf-springs-74272.html#customer_q_and_a
I was wondering what you guys thought about this. Is it a good option or a complete waste of money? Also can top hats be purchased for any lift kit or only specific lifts?
    Tacoma uses:
    1. Mainly in town driving
    2. Occasional ranch/light off-roading
    3. Light loads; i.e. dirt bike at heaviest

    Thanks in advance everyone!

Well I was looking at that RC lift which is around $1400, it’s a 3.5 lift with mono tubes front and n3 shocks rear with AAL. It sounds good I just wasn’t sure if that was a reliable lift or not?

I would not spend a dime on anything RC. Functions over looks all day.

Total waste of money. Run the stock rubber till almost bald. Upgrade with some all terrains, and call it good.

Well good to know, so, is there a 3.5in lift with all those components that are better quality for around the same price? And if I did do that lift height, would 265’s look odd?

    Can’t a 2wd just run a spindle lift? I don’t think many of us work with 2wd

Why lift it for almost no off-roading? I slapped on a set of bigger tires and have gone places people said I couldn’t with stock suspension. But hey your money. Waste it if you want to.

    Rough country 3.5” lift 20x10 kg1 forged 33/12.5r20 rdr
Rough country ain’t been in business as long as it has because they are junk. They are good lifts. Are they the best not by any stretch. There are a lot better out there. I use rough country due to in my years of lifting trucks they have been the one to not “squat” when I’m towing something heavy. Most people use there lifts due to price and they stand behind their products.

I just really like the look, I know it sounds dumb, but I feel it just gives it that more aggressive look and stance you know? I do truly appreciate all the input from everyone. On stock suspension Whats the biggest tire you could go?

with my certain situation and use of my truck, would you recommend that lift I listed? I know there are a lot of other lifts out there way better and higher cost and quality, but with my intentions, would be a good go or hard pass?
    Thanks!

    Rough country 3.5” lift 20x10 kg1 forged 33/12.5r20 rdr
33’s on what factory wheels? Aftermarket? If aftermarket what size and offset? Rough country isn’t a “riding on a cloud” lift. I have the 3.5” on my taco I run 33’s but I am also not on factory wheels.

You technically can go with 35s if you wanted on stock lift. You will definitely need to do some slight modifications :sawzall:

Crawfish00: with the 3.5 ddi you get the V2 Monotube front shocks, N3 rear shocks and leaf springs with their UCA’s?

Lots of companies have been in business while selling junk. 90% of Amazon is junk from china. Don’t kid yourself, RC is junk, you get what you pay for. The reason your truck didn’t squat is because RC uses spacers, drop brackets and extended spindles (I.e. your factory pack).

RC is like the harbor freight of lifts. Ya it will work, it might break or have issues, and will likely be replaced with something better anyway.
