Im kinda new here and I have been reading all I can on lifts as I saw a 2007 Tacoma DC sport that had the stock 17" aluminum TRD sport wheels with 285's and a small lift (I was told 2 1/2"). I like the look and have the same type of truck just a 2008.
After reading I am not clear if wheel spacers are required? Whats required to run the stock wheels with 285's? Do the UCA make a big difference in handling with a 2-3" lift. How do you reclaibrate the speedometer for the larger tires? Does anyone regear to offset the larger tire size? Effects on auto trans with out new gears? Thanks for any recomindations or pictures? The truck is a daily driver spending 90% on pavement and the other 10% mild offroad. My performance concerns are due to living in Western NC with mountains and twisty roads. Sorry for the long post.

your stock UCA's will be fine as long as you don't go over 2 1/2" Your speedometer will only be off by a smidge if you put the 285's on...if your going 60 you'll really be going like 61 or 62 so no biggie there just save your money. You will have to get spacers if you plan on running 285's... 1.25" if i'm not mistaken. Hope this helps
