    Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and a new owner of the 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro. I put new 285/75 R16 tires on the truck and while there isn't any rubbing at this point I wanted to possibly do a 2" lift or some other modification just to ensure no rubbing during off road driving.

What recommendations do you have? Seeing it's the new pro I don't need the suspension and all of the gadgets; just need the space. Thanks!

How else would you gain the 2" without "suspension and all the gadgets"?

why would you buy a TRD pro with Fox suspension only to replace it?
Aside from aesthetics the Fox suspension is to me the only good thing about the pro.

You should've saved your money and just bought an OR then lol.

Edit: But I see you're new here. Maybe TW will go easy on you for looking like a tool.
I am now here just to see where this goes

Just throwing it out there, if I bought a $53k truck and then decided to hack the cab mounts and put in a body lift...I hope someone comes with a running start to kick me in the nuts for being such a fucknut.

perhaps you should read the "before posting anything in the 3rd gen section read me first" sticky before chiming in.

To answer your little title under your username and avatar. A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cunt... me.

    Goodby for a few days.

I guess I'd recommend a body lift *shivers*

He could take out the fox suspension and sell it here to someone looking to do a faux pro and go with something else. Not sure what the fox's offer over a stock OR though.

    enough to go over stuff
I recommend Total chaos3+ long travel with king coilovers and bypasses with hydro bumps. Also you should run an SUA leaf pack in the rear like deavers with a bed cage bypasses and bump stops. You should be able to get about 2 inches of lift from this and will fit those 285 nicely without rubbing.

Resi's dog. Resi's get the ladies hot n bothered. Plus they went with Fox instead of Bilstein because the truck sluts never heard of Bilstein. Everybody knows Fox

To answer your question seriously OP.

Don't do anything yet. If you notice you start rubbing, cut the shit out of the way that it's rubbing on.

If you don't want to do that, then a 1" body lift will also help reduce a good bit of rubbing.

Can't he just swap out the coils for something a bit taller if he wants another inch or so of lift?

He probably could. I personally have no idea on the ride height of a Pro vs an OR/Sport. I assumed he was wanting to keep the expensive suspension though.

Just wanted to comment on the $53k comment.....the truck tax, title out the door was $44k. I didn't and wouldn't pay a markup like some dealers are doing.
