I have read numerous threads regarding suspension modifications and lifts and it sounds like there is a couple of three brands that most everyone recommends. However, it appears for the most part most are adding these for ascetics or to be more off-road worthy.

While these are important to me, my overall goal is modify the suspension to be able to accommodate more weight i.e. bumpers, armor, winch, cap/shell etc... Over the next couple of years I want to transform my Taco into a more overland worthy truck, as opposed to an all out off-roader.

With that said, what are recommendations for modifying my suspension to stay inline with my overall goals?

I would recommend ome dakar leaf pack and depending on your bugget you might either want 5100s or ome or the better alternative would be coilovers. To accommodate all your weight I would upgrade the springs to 700lb. I run icons with the dakar pack and I love them.

How much lift do you want and what is your budget for parts?

2-5" - 3" max lift height. I'm really not looking to create a rock crawler, but want the extra support for additional weight that I know I will be adding incrementally in the future.
