I'm looking to get a 6" lift. I want to put 35's on I've heard a lot of people say 35's won't fit. I'm looking at 18x12 rim possibly -44 offset. Anyone have this set up? Do the 35's rub?

Welcome to TW. You'll find that a lot of people on here look down on 6" lifts, for a variety of reasons so we won't be very helpul. They open up a huge can of worms, and in order to do it "properly", you're looking at thousands of dollars. Did you know that in order to install a 6" lift, you have to cut your front cross member (part of your frame) out and have the lift bracket welded in place? It's not easily reversible, so think long and hard before you do this.

My recommendation would be to spend weeks researching the topic. The search function on here isn't great, so just use Google. Just add "tacomaworld" to the end of your search and it'll bring up better results.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate that. I couldn't find what I was looking for in the search form. Was hoping someone who had already done it could give some advise.

    Here's a start for you.

To answer your questions about fitting 35's, the answer is yes and no. You can get them to fit, but they'll likely rub over bumps. You'll probably have to do a CMC, but that's not a big deal if you're already cutting your frame for your lift.

The other expensive thing that I would recommend is re-gearing. 35's are big, heavy tires and you'll definitely notice. You'll put an unnecessary amount of strain on your transmission, and your truck will be really sluggish. A regear to 4.56 from East Coast Gear Supply is $500, plus the cost of installation, which isn't cheap.

To properly lift the rear to match the front, you'll need a whole new set of leaf springs. Shoving some 4" blocks in the rear is a horrible idea. You'll get really bad axle wrap. A set from Atlas that lifts the rear 4" costs $700, before shipping and taxes.

Like I said, it can be done, but doing it properly isn't cheap.

Here's a thread highlighting some of the negatives of the drop bracket style lift.

You'll need to replace Needle Bearing with a Bushing from ECGS too at some point so you might as well add that to the budget. ~$120 in parts, another ~200-300 in labor if you aren't comfortable pulling tie rods and a cv axle, then removing and replacing the old bearing. Search ECGS and you'll see why.
