lift vs no lift

    King 2.5" extended travel coilovers with compression adjusters, Camburg UCA's, King 2.5" rear shocks, TRD 1st gen CAI.
    anything over 2.5" will need an aftermarket uca, like Camburg or Total Chaos.... if you want it done right anyway

    can any one explain or provide a website that can explain the differences in a pre runner and nonpre runner and how a lift would effect them differently

    You won't need a diff drop because you do not have a front differential.

    It will change the angles of your upper and lower control arms, all you will have to do is get an alignment and you will be fine. You should have asked some of these questions today at quaker steak....

    It will change a bunch of angles...that's the nature of an IFS.

    However, the only angle that you'll need to worry about with a prerunner is how much caster adjustability is still available in the UCA's.

    Some people with a 2.5" lift need new UCA's to get their alignment right, but a lot don't. The only way to know if you'll need it is to try.

    yeah i should have, just feel a little lost with all of this some times.

    so if i change the angles of the upper and lower control arms will that cause any extra wear?

    It will cause some extra, but not any that your really going to notice.

    So your just looking at Bilstein 5100s in the front? You gonna do anything in the rear, or stay stock?

    Yes. Anytime you changes angles from stock, components will wear faster., because they were designed to operate at the stock setting.

    That being said, 2.5" isn't going to kill anything.....but if you're overly worried about it, then maybe a lift just isn't for you :notsure:

    But its not like ball joints wear out that often anyways........my brother has had his lift for over 100,000 miles and has not had problems with ball joints.

    im just talkin from experience. my ball joints were shot within a couple of years with 3" OME coils. so, i ended up buying Camburg uca's.
