I have been reading and saving many forums and pictures of others trucks with wheels, lifts and tires and I'm getting a good idea of where I want to go, but my question is about order of purchase.

I just got some extra money, but not enough to do everything so I was thinking I want to do wheels first, but here is my question.

Can I purchase new wheels that I can run with oem tires for awhile, but then also work with bigger tires later? Something like a 275/70/17 or 285/70/17 (depending on what lift I go with)

I know that the oem wheels are a 17x7.5 +30 offset, but not sure if I can go to a wider wheel and different offset with oem tires.

If I can, then I would like to do that, then do lift and tires later or does it make sense to just save up and do lift, wheels and tires all at the same time?

Right now I am leaning toward the SCS SR8 or the SCS Ray 10's

Currently I got an extra $700, but I think I can get another $1000 if I my play my cards right. I know $1700 isn't enough to do all 3, but should be close to enough to do lift and wheels at least if I can do tires later.

    Thanks for the advice

Back to school... Order of operations.

I'd most def do wheels first.

I've got the cash for my full lift, tires and wheels. I'm looking for some holiday discounts to sweeten the deal.

But - I've been considering just getting wheels first myself and see what an upgraded -12 offset looks on stock tires and stock suspension.

if your doing > +1's on the tire size, lift first, then rims/tires. My lift was 2k, rims/tires another 2k. Went with 2888's+Billies/Dakar's+Billies for Headstrong Offroad.
