Well, I put back stock wheels and tires and guess what? The frickin thing still locks!!! WTF!!!!!!
Now I might have to pull the OME out and go back to stock prior to selling, unless I do full disclosure and the new owner is cool with it. I need to tell them as I don't want them having an accident. Even then I still might return to stock. It's just the right thing to do. Sucks big time!!

Well I've been reading this post for some time now and feel a bit overwhelmed with all the info. I recently put a 3" lift on my 2013 Tacoma and am now having the issue mentioned by others, I've had after market rims and tires on the truck for months now so I know that's not the issue, it's only been since the lift. I take a turn, apply the breaks and the truck's front end vibrates, wheel vibrates etc, feels like I'm hitting gravel. Obviously from what I read on here I should have the VSC and Yaw calibration done. This is happening at the dealership tomorrow. If this doesn't resolve the issue then I'm not sure what to do. I'd rather not disconnect the safety features built into this truck as its my daily driver. Obviously returning my truck to factory stock would fix this but I'd rather not as there goes a bunch of money wasted. Also I did download the PDF as the front of this thread, don't quit understand how to perform it. Anyway if anyone has any thoughts I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

I have this problem on my '13 DCLB with OME 3" lift (Dakars and 886 springs). Tires are 285/70/17 on SCS F5's. Ive been running the lift since last fall and only had it full-engage the VSC twice... and both were high speed off ramps with sweeping tight turns. Scared the shit out of me the first time as it almost put me into the guard rail.

I always know the problem is there because on somewhat sharp turns at speed (usually 30+ mph), I can hear the VSC system "charge up" in anticipation; I get a mechanical whine of the pump and the brake pedal gets super sensitive, but it never kicks in and locks the front end up. It only happens for a second and stops. So far Ive been able to easily live with it but its always bothered me. I just found this thread today after finally searching the issue and tried the clear-and-reset method for the VSC but unfortunately no change at all. The VSC system still pressures up the brake system in anticipation but never locks up. I know I can make it kick in on a higher speed sharp turn and Ive figured out the threshold so I don't do it on purpose.

FYI, I performed the clear and calibration twice and followed directions:

    Clear:
Attached two wires with pins to the 4 and 12 pins and touched them together 4 times while the ignition was on. The VSC blinked rapidly indicating cleared.

    Calibrate:
touched wires together with ignition off and turned ignition to on position. VSC blinked rapidly, indicating successful.

I know the tone you are talking about , sounds like it comes from under the steering wheel ?

Yep. Just a very faint sound of the pump pressurizing, ready to jam those brakes up! Next time it does it in the turn, lightly press the brake pedal and you'll see how sensitive it becomes. It's like you have racing Brembos!

Yeah , I know the drill

There are a couple threads on the " tone " where 90% of the posters said people hearing it were crazy but I know exactly what you're referring to

Here's something I tried but didnt work (dont laugh, I was experimenting).

I set the zero calibration on the slope of my driveway, rear end lower, front end higher. Since some have reported it is the rake of the vehicle (or lack of rake after the lift installation) that's causing it. I calibrated it on an angle thinking that if the sensor was tricked into thinking it was level but really tilted slightly rearward due to the slope of the driveway, then as the truck sat level, it would think it was slightly nose down with the required rake.

Nothing, no change at all. cleared and recalibrated again on level to be safe.

So to reset based on the pdf in OP, if I use a paper clip, do I follow steps 4 and 5, or just step 4? I'm confused as to which step(s) to follow. Any help appreciated.

Is anyone still watching this thread? I tried to do this tonight to clear the traction control and abs light that have been on since I did my lift. Didn't shut the lights off.

I haven't had any trouble with the VSC kicking in because I think it, and my ABS are shut off or drastically reduced since the lights are. Anyone have this happen and if so, any advice?

I swapped lower control arms, got an alignment and the slip indicator is solid. From reading this thread I should zero calibrate the VSC.

    Clear zero point calibration:
1: Turn key to 'ON' position, truck not running.
    2: Connect terminals TS & CG (4 & 12) 4 times or more within 8 seconds
3: Warning lights should blink in .25 second increments, if it doesn't, retry calibration.

Perform zero point calibration of yaw rate sensor:
1: Ignition should be in the 'OFF' position
2: Steering wheel in the straight ahead position
3: Auto tranny, shifter is in P and parking brake set
    4: Connect terminals CG & TS (4 & 12)
5: Turn ignition switch to 'ON' position, vehicle not running
6: Don't shake or rock vehicle for at least 2 seconds
7: VSC/TRAC warning lights should blink in .13 second increments if done correctly

I am only making these notes for myself to try later tonight. It seems to me that you need to do both of these procedures to correctly zero the calibration

I have tried this multiple times (2014 TRD/OR model). I do both procedures each time. The first (clear zero point) works. The warning lights blink as they should. However, when I do the second, there is no blinking (which I believe is correct per the pdf in OP due to my model). However, the lights still won't shut off.

At first I didn't care so much b/c it was just lights. But the downhill assist seems to not work b/c of this and I'm thinking the A-trac probably doesn't either. I'm going to give it another go and if it's still a failure, I guess the next stop is the dealer to see if they can re-calibrate. I'm surprised there is not more input from folks in here anymore.

A solid VSC light is not specifically what this thread is about , its to reduce the sensitivity of the VSC system after lifting , a solid VSC light likely means something else like a system fault

This does clear it sometimes though. I cleared mine after an abs sensor wiring got ripped out using the procedure. Zero issues since

Tried a few times and got both procedures to work but this light won't go away. I'll have to try something else.

[IMG]I only got the light when I tried adding the lean spacer. First with the 1/2 drivers and 1/4 passenger the light first showed up. Then now with just the 1/4 drivers spacer it still shows up. I think Im going back to stock soon or at least just a 2.5" lift to try and correct this. I cant stand the light

I am the same way, I might pull the cluster out and solder the circuit without the light. It means nothing to me anyway

Well the problem is I am trading my truck in soon and want it to be as stock as possible so I want to get it dealt with. Right now Im waiting to get a discount card on an alignment and then I'll put the suspension back. Sad thought because I love the truck but its had its time

this is happening to me going off a main road into a parking lot. Driving me nuts. Anyone know if this procedure would work for a 2016?
