I Asked Auburn (CA) Toyota about it and they wanted somewhere along the lines of $200-$250 to try adjusting it but said they couldn’t guarantee it would fix the problem.. I want to complete disable that VCS crap.. anybody know how to do that? Thanks in advance!

I have a 2015 Tacoma trd sport with after market tires that are slightly taller than stock size and stock size after market wheels, and a 3” toytech lift (all done prior to me purchasing it). I’ve owned it for 6 months and have had the VSC issue occur 8x always when going around a curve over 30+mph and all in dry conditions on nicely paved roads. No beeping (maybe disabled in newer model) but the pedal and wheel lock up, and the flashing traction control light. You essentially loose control. I had a shop do the VSC and no fix. I’m going to try to have the alignment done and see if that fixes it, then next I’ll look into the yaw sensor. After that - if no fix - it’s going back to stock wheels. I’ll keep you all posted. I have talked to Toyota about this, especially with the 2016 models now having a similar issue under recall (wheel lock up around turns) - but they will not fix on a modified rig or one that is older than the recall range.

I asked a local mechanic if they could do the VSC calibration and gave them the paperwork with the steps. The answer I got was that the VSC calibration is done with an alignment. Their machine will do it with the alignment. Does this make sense to anyone or are they blowing smoke?
