Put a 3 in ome lift on my TRD 4x4 sport. Measures 23 ¾in both sides without spacers. Am getting spacers added tomorrow. Question is I wanted 3.5 in at least. Have ¼ and ½ inch spacers. If I do ¼ I'll be at 24¼ on each side (3¼in lift), if I do ½ I'll be at 24¾ (3¾in lift).

Have diff and center bearing drop kit installed. Sway bar relocated and UCAs already installed.

Question is what would you do and why?
Will 3¾in be to much or just fine?

a half inch does not matter. ever. two inches to eight inches? That matters everywhere.

But why is it that coil over lifts stop at 3.5 and at 4 they are all spindle drop? 3¾ is close, that's why I ask.

Why do you want 3.5" of lift? Keep in mind that your downtravel will be next to nothing with spacers and coilovers. If you plan on wheeling the truck, you will break things and have less than capable suspension. If you are going to keep it on the pavement...lift it to the moon.

These things just look perfect at 3.5 to me. Most off reading I do is muddy roads, dirt roads and occasional fields. Not a rock crawler or climber, not planning any trips through the mountains off road. Its full ome lift now with 886 springs. Will a quarter or half inch spacer really do much different? I had 3in spacer lift prior and it ran fine but wanted to upgrade so I didn't have them. Problem is I'm not even at three inches anymore. I don't think. Stock height up front is 21in correct?

Well to answer your question, I would not put the spacer on but I wheel my truck pretty hard. If you like the look, go for it. Nobody here can tell you what you do and don't like. I think you will be stressing your LCA bushings with anything more than a 3" lift, but that's my opinion. With the diff drop, you might be ok for your needle bearing and CV boots but hard to tell for sure.

Needle bearing was also already deleted when I regeared. With the drop kits, right now everything is more inline than it was stock. Question isn't really about what I would like, the question is if I just go to 3¾ will it over stress anything or even be a difference between 3¼ and 3¾ as far as drive goes. I understand nobody likes spaces but its really only way you can get above 3 inches without spending 5k on a lift that's meant for extreme motor sports. Its just my daily that occasionally gets dirty.

There are physical limits to how much you can increase the ride height of an IFS suspension. In particular the amount of down travel of the Tacoma IFS is limited to around 3". You don't want to max that out. Imagine your truck free-falling into every dip in the road. If you want to go above 2", you should be considering mid-travel (2-3") or drop bracket (4-6"). This is assuming you are 4wd.

I suggest doing some research. Here are some starters.

CV angle at 2.75in is more in line than stock currently.

Huh? Are you saying that you have increased your ride height by 2.75” and your CV axle is closer to horizontal than it was previously? If so, that makes no sense.

Not sure if you have seen this video. It explains the Toyota suspension quite well and should answer you lift vs spindle drop lift.

I wouldn't do the spacer lift, that's what I would do!

    Do you have UCA's?
3" lift on our 3rd gen is as far as you should go. IMHO.
But if you don't mind creating issues? Then the skies the limit!
Anything can be done. But it doesn't mean it's done correctly.
Anything over 3" get yourself a DB kit.
I personally like the look of a 6" lift. But because of where I go hunting that would not be the best option for me. Also I need to go into parking garages every once in a while, and a 6" lift is a no go!

I have upgraded UCAS for up to 4 in lift. So the ¼inch spacer will put me at 3.25 in lift, that in your opinion is OK? Instead of 3.75inches? Or will half inch more even matter?
