I'm looking for some ideas for my 1st gen I want to lift it and put it on 35s but keep the ifs for now and get the most ground clearance I was thinking a 3in suspension lift and a 2in body lift or how much would you guys estimate it would cost to straight axle it and what would you guys recommend for gears the truck has the 3rz and I would like to run 35s

Grey wire mod, Deck plate mod, diff breather mod. K&N air filter. Toytec coilovers. AAL. Custom rear lift shackles. diff drop. Centerforce clutch. Superwinch LP8500 with custom "behind bumper" mount. Winch solenoid relocation with in cab winch control. 33x12x15 Duratracs. Aisin manual hub swap.
Stick with 33's if you wheel even moderately with the IFS. I wheel mine in all conditions and the toll on IFS parts adds up. I just have 33's and I'm going to be needing a 3rd rack and pinion shortly, have changed countless ubj's, tie rod ends, etc. I should have done a SAS years ago. I've seen guys do junkyard SAS for $1500 and I've seen guys into it over 10k. There's countless ways of doing it, obviously some a lot better than others.

As for gearing with 35's the highest I would even consider is 4.88. 5.29's would be my choice for what I do.

Alright thanks for the information I just did a ruff estimate and it would cost about $4943 for a 3 link kit and high steer, fox 2.0 shocks, air shock mounting kit, and a complete rear lift (all from trail gear) and 35in Goodyear mtr, and pro comp steel wheels (from 4wheelparts). The only thing that I for got to do is research on is 5.29s

Trd S\C with nosecone hybrid bearing upgrade kit. 2.0 urd pulley, 7th injector kit-urd "6 fabtech lift with 3" body lift. 20" XD spy wheels with toyo open country r\t's in 37"x 12.50x20. Front and rear diffs re-geared to 4.88 dirty 30 drive axles. and a rhino pack clutch. Custom exhaust and huge mudflaps!
Well i have had a 6" suspension plus 3" body on for 9 yrs and 106000 miles with no blown racks ball joints or Ubj. I wheel it a lot and it loaded down with 800 lbs of other heavy off road Armor, tent winch, Rv battery. Im running 4:88s and 37x1250x20 its perfect except it likes to eat bushwhacker fender flares if i forget to remove them if im getting serious lol. With the S\charger At 8psi i still get 14mpg! I love this truck and wont sell it. I have a ls3 motor swap waiting for it in the future.......Right now its in our land rover and were testing it.
