I've see lifted Gen3's all over this site, but everyone seems to replace OEM wheels like it's a must-do. I'm interested in a mild lift (maybe 1.5-2 inch) but really want to retain the stock look and keep the OEM TRDOR wheels and some all-terrains. Anyone seen any lifted 2016 Tacomas with OEM wheels? Pls link me or feel free to post pictures.

Also, explain why everyone changes out OEM wheels? Offset?

If you keep the stock rims and increase your tire size you may experience tire rub.

Depends on the tire size you want to go with. Lots of posts around here on it.

20160411_151708.jpg I run a 285/70r16 with a 2/1 inch lift and 1.25 wheel spacers. No rubbing, I like the 16' wheels with a tall sidewall tire.

Your welcome, it was the Spider Trax wheel spacers. I'm not sure where they came from, my buddy has a truck shop and he got them from his vendor.

That is a perfect set up in my eyes, love the small lift and keeping still looking like OEM specs

3" Front Strut Spacer with ToyTec Rear AAL, Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac AT's on Stock Sport Wheels. 50% Tint on Front Side Windows.
Granted this is a Sport not OF but, first pic is stock height with Goodyear Wrangler 265/70R17's on factory wheels. These tires cleared with no rub(even at full lock), with .5" clearance at best on upper arm. This is with no wheel spacers though I will be getting Spidertrex Spacers for the added clearance. I didn't even have to trim the air damn.
Second pic is after a 3/1.5 lift. I was afraid the 3/1.5 would be too much imo, but it came out perfect. There is no squat after the lift, it looks like one because the ground has a slope and I don't think the camera was perfectly level either. I need to get a better pic.

Nice truck and great example of what I'm looking for. Got any pictures of your truck from the side showing rake and lift?

What lift? How did effect your MPG? Does the truck feel like it has enough power for the extra tire and lift? Looks good....

Thank you! My truck is not going to see any hardcore off-roading so I just used a 3" front strut spacer and rear AAL. Rides just fine, lift didn't effect the MPG but the tires have by maybe a couple miles per gallon. Power seems the same, if the tire size does effect it, its not enough of a difference for me to notice.

Can you send the specific info on lift? I think that's the route I'll go with.

Its just a generic 3" front spacer. Any lift shop will have these by the case. Its a cheap part as it is only a chunk of steel threaded to match up to factory bolt holes. Google it and you will see. The rear is an Add A Leaf(AAL) from ToyTec for the 2015 model. It fits the 2016 just the same. Super easy and quick install. Just make sure you get the truck aligned afterwards. http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Rear-add-a-leaf-_p_16.html

I recommend you avoid doing a rear block for the rear lift. Blocks create more movement in the rear axle that can lead to hopping and can also negatively effect the way the truck rides overall. The AAL is not much more money than a block but is a much better option for so many reasons including bed sag with larger payloads and how the truck handles when towing.
