Looking for an opinion here. I am torn between two options for getting my wheels dialed in to put 285s on a 16 inch wheel on my ride that is 8inchs wide. Backgroud info: got OME lift with 887 coils, dakars, arb w/9500 winch, dakars in rear with LR UCAS on a 06 access cab w/standard tranny

My goals are to gain a bigger tire for better wheeling ability and to fill in some wheel space since putting on my lift, I also have no issues with trimming or doing a cab mount chop for this endeavor

Option 1: get wheels with 0-offset/4.5inch of backspacing. From my research getting these specific setup of wheels requires getting a more "boutique" off road wheel that often cost a lot (college is expensive :( ), I like the method NV wheels but out of my range for sure but sometimes you got to pay to play.

Option 2: get wheels that fit 285s and just add bora (hub centric spacers are the best I am told) to clear the UCAs. While Ive read great things about these spacers I worry about the side affects of these on wheel bearings and other components hence my inclination to just get wheel with proper backspacing/offset and trim if I need to

ok thank you. do you still rub in Reverse with those on and the F5 wheels? i took mine off... but am thinking some husky ones to minimize road debris... but i didnt like the rubbing with the wider wheel.

My recommendation is to check out discounttiredirect.com. They have some good looking 16s that are under $100 a piece. Another benefit is that if you order both wheels and tires through them, they'll mount and balance them for free, and shipping is always free. Since you have an '06, I don't think you have TPMS, so you can just get the wheels and tires in and mount them right up.

Here's an example of a decent looking tire for cheap.
