Just got the truck back today from the shop! I installed a 5100 lift with 887 coils and Deaver Rear AAL from @HeadStrong Off-Road. Tires I went with 285/70r17 Falken Wildpeaks on 17x8.5 Ray10s. I’ve checked for rubbing and haven’t gotten any as far as I can tell. I’ve only begun to test with flex.. did remove the front mud flaps. Overall the wildpeaks are quiet and I havnt noticed much road noise(exhaust may hide it a bit). The truck no longer nose dives when braking and corners better.

As for exhaust, I have had the MBRP SS 3” catback and have enjoyed the sound of the exhaust, however there was a nasty drone around 1500RPM that would make the cabin loud. I decided to chop the exhaust after the rear axle for two reasons: first being that living in the NE, the salt corroded my chrome tip in one winter, second that by reducing the total length of the exhaust system, I thought I could change the resonance frequency. I gave it a shot while the truck was down and boy did it make a difference. The exhaust still sounds as aggressive, however there is absolutely no drone whatsoever anymore. You can have a normal conversation again in the cab.

Lots of guys run stock spares, saves on weight, you can throw it on the front without issues for short distances and not using 4wd.

Lots of guys probably know better than me, but a 2" difference on trail would make me a lil squeamish. Sounds like OP already has it covered tho.

Trail for sure. Sorry I meant as in road driving / mall crawling. A smaller spare wouldn’t be a problem on the front in 2wd to get you a short distance.

I just tried this on my truck with an mbrp black cat back exhaust. You can still hear the throaty exhaust notes in the cab but it seems to me to be toward the back of the cab. The drone does seem to be gone now but is it still obviously louder then stock. I hope this gives a little bit more information for anyone thinking about doing this.

Ha. That’s the opposite of me. I cut mine so it dumps like that and it’s really loud now. Even added a resonator. I’m going to to ditch the entire thing and do a side exit or something.

Well I did say it is louder then stock. Now rather then being quite and then having drone its a consistent sound and sounds like it's towards the back.

Magnaflow Overland exhaust has a really good tone. No drone @ fwy speed. Throaty when accelerating

That's what I was going to go with if I didn't like how this came out. My exhaust is about 3 years old and it was pretty rusty so I might end up going that route next summer.

OP posted photo in 2019 and hasn't been on here in over a year now. You may not hear back.

While I do not know the product name/vendor, others around here have done similar with a pre cut vinyl piece. I think you'll be able to find it ok.
