My garage.....? LOL! I have several large pieces of it. They were off falls from when I bought several 4'X8' sheets and cut into smaller pieces for cutting boards in our kitchen at work. I get it from a rubber and plastic vendor in Louisville.

I use a 1/4" aluminum plate spacer as a template, then cut the poly with a jig saw, sand the edges, then drill 3 holes on a drill press.

I figure this would be a good place to ask. I have 884's coils on that is lifting me 2 inches. I spoke to Marie at HeadStrong and she recommended if I put my setting at 0.85 that would give me another inch in the front. Just trying to find someone on the forum that is running that set up to see how the ride is. If their is much difference. Anyone have his setup. My other choice might be to sell my 884 coils and get the 885's but it don't seem to make sense to do that.

If Marie says it's so......It is so....But.....It's not my favorite way to lift a truck....preloading coils.....

Yes, I don't really want to preload them either. But maybe some has done this setup. I'm hoping some one will respond that has done this.

Do you need a full 3" total lift? Could you work with 2-1/2"? You could do that with simply adding 1/2" spacers on top of existing coil set up. Full 3" would require new UCA's in all likelihood. Otherwise, you'll be chasing it all over the road. Front end tends to wander with low caster numbers. The higher you go, the more caster it seems to take. Same with bigger tires....need more caster. 1.5 degree + will work with stock height/stock tires. I managed to get 3" with 885X's and 1/2" spacers. My alignment numbers worked out fine without UCA's, but I understand mine is an exception rather than the rule....I got 2.9 degrees + caster with stock UCA's. That's about 1 in a million....

Here's 3" w/265/75/16's. I had a friends 285/75/16's on it for a few minutes just to see what it looked like. The LOOK was cool. The effects weren't as cool. In a word, RUB.....

I'm happy with the 265's and can get around everywhere I need to get. I'll probably do 285's next and probably be disappointed with the results.

    Your truck looks good!

    Yours too.
Love to look and function of tall/skinnys too (255/85/16) Just don't like the weight on them.

That's one area where the 265 really shines. A load range C tire doesn't kill gas mileage, doesn't suck up engine power, and doesn't overwhelm suspension and steering like an E rated tire will. Duratracs are tall for a 265....A 285 will net about a 1/2" of ground clearance with a ton of liability.....just for "looks".

Thanks for the info Bluegrass no I don't need the 3 inches because I'm leaning towards staying with 265-70-17. My mechanic that I go too for all my work I would mind having him change the front shocks to the other setting to see how it looks and rides. But as much as I like the look of my truck it pretty level I kind of wish I would have went with the 885 coils. But then again my truck handles and rides really good. No vibrations.

For whatever it's worth, I'm on 885's. The ride is sweet! No vibrations....no issues at all.

They're only like 54 lbs, which is surprisingly light in my comparisons of 285s. That's what Im leaning towards
