Random question. How many leafs did our trucks come with stock? I'm counting 4+ an overload on mine. I'm guessing that's an add a leaf?

Older 2nd gens had 2+OL, newer 2nd gens have 3+OL. That can be said across the board regardless of model. I can't remember when they did the TSB upgrading to 3+

Anyone run stock 3rd gen Taco TRD Offroad set-up on their 2nd gen regular cab? They are the yellow and blue Bilsteins and coils. Suppose to give it an 1 inch lift?

I ran TRD bilsteins until I got the 5100 setup. Weren't off a 3rd gen but don't see difference except age. 5100s are noticeable step up on ride quality from the TRDs IMO but the TRDs were big step up in ride quality over the stock Tokicos too. The only lift out back came from scoring some oem 2015 4 leaf packs, big improvement over the stock 3 leafs mine had and 1" lift. Did that before there was a recall on the leafs. Didn't bother doing recall since were same leafs and don't care for dealership doing anything to my truck. Would have been waste of time just to end up with same thing.

Here is mine. Currently stuck in the garage for a major overhaul.

RHA bilsteins and an AAL. Lifted about 1 1/2”. Stiffened up the anemic stock rear suspension. The replacement leaf springs put in by the dealership during the frame recall also helped.

I ran the TRD OR bilsteins and personally saw no difference at all, went to the 5100's thought they were good but the roads in HI suck and the shocks were too stiff for my liking. Went to a full icon kit, although they look cool, that was a huge disappointment. super stiff and bouncy, our trucks are just too damn light. I ended up trading my icons for a set of kings, and if you dont plan on armor get a new spring rate around 500-550lbs. Best ride possible for our lil trucks

I think it's the valving. You can't change spring rates alone. The valving has to match the speed of the springs.

The valving feels perfect, the spring rate was definitely too high off the start with the kings, 1200lbs combined SR with a 900lbs front end was definitely stiff. I put 550's and now it feels awesome

Has anyone swapped out the solid rear windshield for a sliding one? Pretty lame that the regular cabs come with a solid window.

I see replacement windows advertised like the one below. I think Id rather not have it tinted and also the price of this one doesn't even tempt me.

Mine came with slider but is SR5....I did play around with different ones on the 82 tho, was pretty simple with some string to pull seal thru and get in right place.

Mine is a base model but came with a slider. Maybe because mine is newer?

Can you tell us how the kings are doing on the road? I assume you are using the 550# springs? Did you get the adjustable version?
