Ditched the spacer and tossed in the ome’s and an aal over the weekend. Gave a lot more lift than I was expecting, but I like it. Only thing is the 265’s are starting to look pretty small to me

What's the next standard tire size up from 265/70R16 in this crazy metric designation? I believe the 265/70 is 30.6 x 10.4. I think I could fit 1-1.5" more tire with my modest lift, so maybe as much as 32" diameter. Would like to keep the 16" wheel size.

I got 1.5" of lift from 3rd gen TRD take offs:

I used to run 255/85R16 Toyo MT's on my '13 regular cab when I had it. Fit the truck really well and barely rubbed when the tires were new. I miss that truck a lot.

You could go to 265/75/16 (approx 1" taller) or 275/70/16 (approx .5" taller). If you go to a 17" wheel, you can get 275/70/17 which is about 1.5" taller.

Do you guys think I can fit 32" tires (265/75R16) with my 1.5" lift? The ones on there measure about 30", though the converter says 30.6".

Yeah you'll fit 265/75r16 no problem. Just don't try and install mud flaps in the future as they will rub. Stay with p rated tires to keep the 4 cylinder happy

Don't measure the tire with the truck on the ground, the weight compresses it a bit so you lose .5-1" of overall height. And not all brand tires measure out to the same dimensions as the calculators so try to look up the individual brand tire and size specs. If you go to tirerack.com you can see the true size under the specs area.

I've been reading the threads on P vs LT. The trails are all pointy rocks and stuff around here, so I'm hesitant to stay with P even though I'm expecting to be 98% pavement. There does appear to be some confusion in the threads regarding load rating vs P/LT too. I think people are getting rough rides because they get E load rating and have them pumped up to 60+ PSI. Maybe if I get aluminum wheels to replace the steel I can offset some of the weight gain in the tire and not get too bogged down with my little engine.

Here's one candidate, though I don't have a weight on it (Toyo):

So I've been looking at wheels a little. I think my stock steelies are 7" width with 30mm backspacing. Most aftermarket options want to be 8" with 0 backspacing. If I'm thinking about it right, that'll push me out like 2". Do most guys go this route, or limit themselves to wheels with factory backspacing? Incidentally, anyone know the weight of the factory wheels?

The difference is closer to being pushed out 1.75" farther than stock. My truck had some 16x8 with 0 offset (4.5 backspacing) on it when I first got it. With 285/75/16 tires, they didn't really stick out that much. With narrower 265 tires it will stick out a little less.

Especially compared to the 305 tires on 17x8.5 with -10 offset that are on the truck now.

These are 8" and zero offset.

Thanks! Pirelli Scorpions MT in 265/75R16. I'm due for new tires this year just based on age. I may try the Yokohama M/T or maybe another set of the Scorps. Or maybe 255/85r16? :deadhorse:

I've been real happy with the topper. Best Craigslist find ever.

That's interesting I was looking at a set of the 235/85-16 (31.7") Scorpion MT's at my local discount and it says they have them online. I wonder if it's just their remaining stock.
