After 140k miles my stock shocks started to go out. I replaced with 5100 all the way around and I found some 3rd gen springs and leaf pack.

I can finally contribute!! I posted in the other single cab threads but I just finished my baby lift. Eibach Pro Truck struts in front at the 1.6” lift preload clip, Amazon 1.5-2” AAL in the rear. Had to cut the hidden strut mount nut and stud with a hand saw, basically blind, drill into it, and use the corner of a chisel to catch the drilled hole and spin the nut off. Also had to disconnect the CVs from the hubs to take the struts out since my sway bar bolts are stripped. Also stripped the crown nut on the ball joint on the passenger side so I cut the ball joint and installed a new UCA, which apparently involved having to bend sheet metal and get it out through the engine bay (fkn engineers, man). Had to cut down my new u bolts as well as center pins on the leafs. Took 3 or 4 trips to O’Reillys. Had to use damn near every tool I had, and buy and rent the rest. Two floor jacks, swivel sockets, pry bars, spring compressors, impact wrench, smaller impact wrench, sawzall, cutoff wheel, torque wrenches, crescent wrenches, a hand saw, nut splitter, you name it. Have 5-8 hours a day since Wednesday on it if you include trips to the parts store. Front took 3 afternoons, rear took two. But here she is!

of all the different taco body styles the single cab is my favorite... super nice looking truck. Kinda glad the black is yours and not mine though... ;)

How do y'all feel about your 4cyls with 33s? I am in the market for a 2nd gen and am trying to find the lowest mile, best shape, for lowest price ... this is bringing up a lot of reg/ac 4cyls.

Everyone on here and other pages are telling me to go with the V6, but these reg cab builds are reallyyyyy making me like them more. I want to do a 1-2" lift with some skinny talls (255/80/17 or 33/10.5/17), and maybe a camper shell.

I am 100% okay with not having a lot of "power" and truly could not care less about speed. I am coming from a lifted 99 4R with 33s and drive like a grandma. I'm sure the V6 would be "better," but when there are very low mile 4cyls for a few thousand less than the lowest V6s, I can't not be interested. thoughts?

I'm running 265/75/16 (little less than 32") with stock gearing. Around town it's fine, but when I get up in the mountains I do wish I had lower gears. So, my opinion is if you don't live in a flat spot like me, you'll be disappointed with a 4.10 gear ratio with 33 inch tires.
