ZR2 doesn't come with the 6.2, and it's not what you want to pull a boat. Full size does come with the 6.2, a great engine.

Sorry, The new refresh 2022 Silverado ZR2 only comes with the 6.2 420HP proven engine. You might be thinking of the Colorado ZR2.

I had a Trail Boss with the 6.2 and 10 speed. It was awesome. If you get one delete the AFM and auto start stop on the asap.

Thats it, I have been a Toyota truck owner for a long time, my first one was a 1985, last year for the straight axel and I hate to move away from them but the quality has dropped and I need more towing power. I was getting ready to get the new Tundra but now they are having issues with the new twin turbo waste gate. They have to pull the body off the frame to get to the part needing fixed. It's a shame because its getting around 22+ miles per gallon.

I'm showing my age :) I was 54 when I did the lift on my 17 and now about to hit 60 and I don't have the gas like I did. I would remove all of it if I had some help (someone that wanted the lift). Here are some pics of my 1985, it was $6800 out the door and I had the 3" lift and 31" tires on it within the first 500 miles. As all of us that wasn't enough so I did a 3" body lift and 33". I beat the shit out of this truck and you could not kill that little 4 cylinder.

The new ZR2 has the auto start deleted, I'll have to see what AFM is.

Good to know. Active fuel management. Causes some issues, plus they had some bad springs on the 6.2 and 5.7, but they may have sorted that out by now. I dumped mine after I had issues. The 6.2 10 speed is really good though.

Long ago when trading in a vehicle i was told that any enhancements mean nothing as far as adding any trade-in value. Your only going to get the wholesale value of what that truck originally came as.

Some places will and some won't. It's hit and miss in today's market. If I was to take my truck to the dealer right now, having paid 42 for it w/ 10k down and 10k of mods (all mods paid out of pocket) I'd most likely get around 46 from them but I'd shoot for a lot more - call it 48 (then all I lost was labor costs) and any small stuff I added I'd sell myself over time to break even or transfer if possible to the next vehicle. For the price I traded in at I guarantee it's doable. Stock is questionable, but I'd assume 43 easy, and they'd turn it around for whatever markup as well as the hopes of getting someone with extra crap and a $3k extended warranty... It's where they make their money. They can put a lifted truck up front on the lot where I live and it'll be gone the next day. Not all dealerships are the same. The one where I got my taco would never put a spacer lift and mark-up 8k for it, that's for sure.

A good dealer knows when they can make money and most of the money they actually make doesn't even come from the truck - it's dealer extras. So if they can sell a vehicle in a day for an extra 1-2k plus all the extra crap adding up to like 5k all financed at whatever rate they offer because someone didn't want to shop around, it's a win for them - and that's usually how it happens.

Yea if you are going to sell to the dealer would definately be better off selling mods/upgrades seperately on here then selling it stock to dealer.

First off that is a beautiful 85.

Second save some pussy for the rest of us!

Third, I see your ADS with adjusters UCA's. Is your front the extended travel? Same for the rear? Also what leaf setup do you have ? If you're looking for some $ I'm right on the boarder with AL and this is tempting

exactly this and then they'll turn around and sell it $20k over KBB because of those add ons. It's worth negotiating hard to get paid for those add ons and if they dont bite, well at least you tried. I'd go to like 3 different dealerships and if no bueno, then I'd start uninstalling stuff and parting it out.

I have all the take off parts but I sold the stock wheels, tires, and the spare. So I would need to get or trade for a good set someone took off.

Did you try testing the waters? I think you might be surprised in this market.

Dealers can sell a stock truck to anyone. They can only sell a modified vehicle to a much smaller percentage of people. It's a numbers game that adds up to momoney, momoney, momoney for the dealer.
I agree with the guy who had the 85. I wish I still had my 1990.

Damm, that's a beautiful truck. Love that color. I would do a private sale. I would have paid extra for someone who did proper work on a nice truck like that. Reality is of course, I would not sell that truck.
