17” Raceline wheels w/.12 offset 3” Front & 2” Rear leveling 275/75/R17 RoughCountry MT tires
    Hello Everyone,
I have a 2018 Tacoma TRD Off-Road. I was not impressed by the 16” wheels, so when I needed to replace the tires, I upgraded to 17” Raceline wheels and a set of 265/70r17’s. This meant I needed a little bit more clearance. I added a 3” Moto Mod lift. Now, when I was checking the torque on the U-Bolts I noticed that the rear suspension is basically sitting on the rear bump stops. I verified this by driving over a railroad crossing. The rear end hit hard, as if there is no cushion at all. I did upgrade the rear shocks, when I added the lift, to shocks designed for the added travel the lift added.

I noticed that the bump stop is a poly material.

Can it be cut out to allow for the lift?

Are there any other bump stops that are shorter in height? I did not see any on Amazon or eBay.

Any assistance or advice is very much appreciated.

Look into Durobumps... however, I'm not understanding how your factory bumps are too tall, if you lifted the rear... photos? Pretty sure all aftermarket bumps will be taller than the factory bumps. And no, I don't recommend cutting them down.

I'm not following, did you replace the rear leafs? If you just used a rear lift block, then the bump shouldn't have changed position at all.

I agree with @tacotroy17. I believe you put your blocks in wrong. They should look like this.

Based on the pictures, I have my blocks over the leaf springs, not under. I assume that I am able to correctly re-install them. I have included a picture of the rear and the front spacers. Can you tell me if I have completely installed this lift backwards? Is the front alright? I am really hoping that I have not caused irreparable damage with this idiocy installation. I swear that I followed the instructions. What a disappointment I am to the community.

Thank you very much for the information and advice.

Yup, the blocks go underneath the leaf pack. Either way the stock bumps suck, I’m happy with my wheelers ubolt flip and timbren active off-road bump stops.

yes blocks go under the leaf pack. I wouldn’t drive it again until that gets fixed. Not hard to do though.

@tacotroy17, you da man, you definitely called it!
Should be easy fix. Just put the back blocks where they belong. That should fix your problem. And get an alignment, if you haven’t already (post lift install).
Let us know how it goes and let’s see some pics of the finished lift.
