Well come to find out i am fully extending my struts. And that popping noise is the strut reaching its max. Etc. So suspension, I have the Old Man Emu 3" with soft valve struts, 888 coils. Which is for a bumper or winch which i dont have yet... etc it is the tallest spring they make. So when i do put my bumper and winch on i should be good. To note i lifted the truck about 9 inchs in the air and dropped it the suspension compressed 3 inch on slo-mo camera then came right back up as the suspension has settled about 4000 miles on it now. It only drops an inch from max extension to ride height, so oh well ill have to deal with it over bumps but it has gone away for the most part not as noticed only big bumps now. If you read this hole post i salute you. Ha

That is a normal OME trait for their shocks with 887 and 888 springs from several posts I read

It causes no damage, it's the noise from the shock topping out. My buddy had the Eibach adjustable kit, did the same but made clunking noise.

I figured mine out too. Turns out the dbag alignment shop didn't torque the rear A-arm bolts to 155lbs. Sure enough... got under there with a torque wrench and noise is history

I am thinking about the OME Heavy lift. I think that has the 886 springs though. Would you expect the same "problem", maybe even worse until I get the bumper and winch on it? I don't mind a stiff ride but I don't like the idea of fully extending my struts and a popping noise.

I believe it's commonly known around TW as the OME clunk.

Sitting on just about 5k on the lift. Most of the max extension has gone away or i just havent noticed it. Still need to trim though. other than that anyone know how to delete a thread?
