Hey guys, so I know this topic has probably been kicked around so many times by now that nobody wants even think about it, but I need some guidance.

My question is, can we agree on a “proper” method to lift for a 3rd gen TRD Sport that will probably never see more than the occasional dirt road?

I have heard that spacers are an “ok” solution for this but I’m worried about premature failure of my ball joints and such.

I’d be happy to go with a more substantial Toytec lift that includes coilovers, but I’m curious if even THIS is a good solution for extending the life of the rest of the suspension.

I plan on driving this thing for the next 10 years, so while I don’t mind paying for the “right” solution, I’m trying not to break the bank either!

Thanks gents! (And any ladies that might be out there...equal opportunity!)

You may get more responses after you've read more posts on the matter and ask your question differently. What's "proper" for you may not be proper for me. Spacers are fine in some circumstances but I did not want to diminish the Off Road capabilities of my truck even if I don't off road much, so I did a full OME kit suspension lift.

Every guy is looking for 3 more inches, but no guy is asking how to use what he has...

From what I read over these forums the 5100’s, 887 coils and AAL is pretty basic will yield the desired lift and won’t break the bank. Maybe UCA’s for good measure.

Tacoma world should just rename itself to "Trucks with Bilstein 5100s and OME 887 coils, spc UCAs, and Dakar leaf packs" and that would save 85% of people a whole lot of trouble LOL
