im looking to lift my 2008 Tacoma I bought it with 265/75r16s on it I want to run a 3 inch leveling kit a one inch block and maybe a 2 inch body on top of that. Also wanting to upgrade my tire and rim size but not sure about my gear ratio what's best to do with it it's hard to find anything online about it. I want decent gas mileage but preferably want some 285s on 17s or 33s and don't really want to change my gears I don't know what's in it stock. My truck is a single cab 4x4 5 speed standard with the 4 cylinder need suggestions and opinions

    OME 3" lift MK6 wheels 285 Fierce MTs & 4.88s!!
You have 4.10s. It will be kinda sluggish with 285s, but not as bad with the 5 speed as with an auto. Lots of folks running 285s on the 4cyl.
Lots of info in the 4cyl section of this board.

I have run almost every size tire they make up to a 285-70-17 on my 4 cyl. 5 speed, and couldn't imagine doing anything over a 265 with an automatic. I have All Pro Expos in the rear, and 885 X with 5100's and the top plate spacer in the front, giving it a full 3 inch lift. Even the 285's were not bad, that little 4 cyl. has a lot of balls when matched with a 5 speed. You will certainly know the difference over stock 245's - but they will handle the bigger tires fine with out re gearing. Right now it has Duratracs on it, 235-85-16's for the winter, they are pretty loud on the highway, but they handle great on the truck. As far as mileage, with 245's I can squeeze 20 out of it,with these 235-85's I get 18-19, and with 285's I would get 17-18. This is an access cab, and with no one in it goes 4800 lbs. + across the scales. Work truck
