That looks like it's from my IG! That truck was built for the mud! You've got to spend way more than $3K if you want to make your truck like that. IMO you really cut way more than need be so I'd think about running a bigger tire to match your trim job. BTW that's not my double cab. 20160416_165428-1.jpg
I'm running 34's on a 3" lift and the only rub I get is on the chassis at full turn, but I rarely need to put it there. I'd re-gear and run 38's in that bad boy if you're gonna stay trimmed and put a 6".

Vrod, is there any way you could find out what his total lift is on that truck? I would love to know.
Snowboard...to be like a jeep. I like the jeeps ability to remove their doors when I want to. But I need a truck with a bed to haul in. And I do like a challenge.
Kiteguam... for me it is not about just clearing bigger tires. It is about the overall look. I like the look of a lot of space between the top of the tire in the bottom of the wheel well. I would like to go a total of 9 inches of lift on this. But I will not be able to do that. So trimming the fenders up at least gives the appearance of a little more space. Somebody called it the "hawaiian" look. I don't know about that but if that's what it is then OK.
Ultimately everything is about making me happy.
I would be very happy with an end result like one if these.

Gotcha as far as overall lift on that truck I think it's somewhat close to 9" so you could be on the right track to the look you want

Your going to want a drop bracket lift for your purpose of just wanting the look. The red truck has a solid front axle swapped in, among a ton of other work =$$$$$$$. Drop bracket lifts is pretty much a lift for height and looks only.

Wait so you are on such a budget you need to wait to save up the extra 600 for the "Better" suspension lift but you can afford to paint the entire truck? o_O

Firstgen...the only 6" lift I can find for my truck is by fabtech. I don't know much about the different lifts so I don't know if it's drop bracket lift or not but it is the highest I can find.
Bayareataco...I am on a very tight budget but my dad actually pitched in some money to help with the paint. I did all the prep work and I am getting a 500 dollar paint job. The prep is 90% of a good job so hopefully the paint will last a lot longer. So I will just have to save a little longer for the rest.

Sooooo...really want to run 37x12.5 tires. Is this possible with stock setup on my 6 cylinder?
Am I going to hurt anything transmission wise or are we just talking loss of power?
Have found some 36x12.5 as well.

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
I'd say there's not a good way to go about getting what you want right now. Just save your money and do the fabtech and somecoilovers and you can run 37s

I'm guessing you're young if pops has to pitch in $500. You'll need to re-gear which isn't cheap, the lift isn't cheap and tires that big ain't cheap.

Seems like you wanna be like Billy but with a 1st Gen. Just remember cheap work isn't good work and good work isn't cheap work

Fabtech sells DBL. I would do some more research on this set-up so you have a better understanding. You are going to need to regear for a 37" tire size.

Snowboard...im sorry that I am not as familiar with auto mechanics as you. If you would kindly explain the "410's on 37's" comment then I could maybe bang my head a bit as well.

kitequam....I am 45, so yes young, :). I have a back ground in custom painting on motorcycles and fiberglass fuselages for over 8 years. But I do not have a facility big enough to do my truck in. I was going to paint it myself. The exterior was pretty rough due to the previous owner having a crappy paint job done after a fender bender. My dad offered to pitch in a couple hundred dollars to have a painter friend of ours do the actual painting. I spent over 35 hours doing all of the prep work so that the paint has a much better chance of lasting longer than if they had done it.

Firstgen Jer...I have called fabtech (and every other dealer I could find) and for my 2wd truck the 6" lift is the highest one they make for that truck. It makes sense. Most people don't lift 2wd trucks so there are not as many lifts for them. But I do not off road at all. This is just for looks. Maybe once a year I will do some MILD 4wd trails in Colorado to find some good fishing spots. But if you know of something for my 2002 TRD then I am definitely interested.

Should have the truck back from the paint shop soon. Will update with pics.

410s in the gear ratio that the truck has. 37s would be the tire size. With such a big jump is size and tire perimeter, the engine would really be trying hard and you wouldn't really be going anywhere. In addition, it would feel super super slow, just some food for thought:thumbsup:
