Hello, I have a 3rd gen trd sport and I want to lift it on toytec boss coilovers and I'm a bit confused how it says 3 inch of lift but on bilsteinlifts website in the q&a section they said it'll only do 2 inches of lift. What I'm wondering is if it can be maxed at 3inches but would only be 2 inches for the 16+ since they say they're originally for a 2005-2015 model

Gen 3 can only get about 2" of lift but it comes with a factory 1" so they consider that a TOTAL of 3".

It may depend on model but
my factory sport 4x4 has 1". Even your offroad has 1" lift. Do your research and you'll see.

No it doesn't. All Tacoma's except the pro sit at the same height. Just because they are higher than previous generations doesn't mean they have a lift.

That's like saying we have a supped up engine because it makes more power.

It has 1" of lift over a 2nd gen technically. But 0" of lift compared to other 3rd gens

    A few examples:
BP 51 and Boss 2.5 will (after settling a bit) get you to a total of 2.75" MAX on a 3rd gen). I've been researching (manufacturer direct, not trolling tw for hearsay) this religiously for over three months. I went with the Icon stage 4 after they all pretty much matched up evenly performance wise on and off road and was informed of a huge discount available. if size matters to you over performance :rofl:look into full diff drop kits that will net you 4+ inches. Otherwise, bask in the news that your rig has a 1" lift!!

If it's stock it has no "lift". Your trying to compare 2 different generations of trucks.

Exactly. Lift implies it sits higher than stock. If they all sit the same height, it doesn't have a lift.

Geez bro. Manufacturers use this same gen 2/gen3 comparison as you can see. That's the standard measuring stick in the industry. You have a different idea of it. I provided the OP with the answer he needed. Thx

So is there a coilover kit for that'll give it a full 3 inch lift over factory height?
