Do the lift, your warranty will stay intact.

Your powertrain warranty will stay intact. Toyota will have to prove your modifications directly led to the destruction of said part. I could only see steering components, wheel bearings, and maybe the 3rd member being a disputed replacement issue.

I asked one guy at the service area at the dealership say they dnt do that, which doesn't make much sense n he said all the trucks they sell with a lift are sent to 4wp which is just a few minutes away from this dealership......maybe time to go to a different dealer

Your dealer does not have to install the lift for your warranty to remain intact. Most of the time, the dealerships grossly overcharge for the equipment and installation.

It would have to be proven that the lift caused the warranty claim. This is covered under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act.

Completely right! Its all about the dealership. Just have to find one thats modification friendly. They do have to prove it was the modification that caused the part failure. And if you read a lot of the fine print of any aftermarket part, they say it keeps your oem warrenty intact if properly installed. I had to shop around a few places till I found a dealer I was happy with. Only thing that ticked me off was every jeep dealership i talked to would of been happy to have a lifted jeep to work on lol. The dealership I deal with (bare in mind im in Canada) enjoys my truck. Even used it to promote the tacoma and its versatility ;)

My best guess is to check a few dealerships in the area n sees what they say, so with it known a lift won't void a warranty is it possible to do it my self? Or would that be sketchy also?

You could very easily do it yourself and save enough to pay for new tires if you were so inclined.

I tried several dealers here in San Antonio. None of them would install anything more than a simple spacer leveling kit. Pretty lame. I read all the how-to's in the suspension section and installed the OME kit myself with a buddy to help out. Was pretty easy.

    The hammer is optional.

Seriously, it is not that hard to install the lift. Look for one of the install threads on here, it may make you think twice about paying a dealership a small fortune to do the work. If yo are not as mechanically inclined, write the check.

Possibly see what the dealer would charge for the lift and you supply the parts. Just get the pricing on parts and labor from them first. Once you see the estimate for labor/installation ask if you could provide the parts to them.

DO NOT tell them about providing the parts only until you get an estimate to do the install.
