Hey guys, I've been doing research on lifting my truck for amateur off-roading. I'm not looking for something to serious at the moment but just enough to maybe get a size or 2 up for my off-roading tires. Since I got the TRD off-road package my truck already comes with decent enough Bilsteins so a full lift kit feels like a waste and a whole lot of money. Spacers make sense in the front so my question is what are the advantages of getting a lifted leaf pack over just a spacer for my rear?

Better ride. Lift the frame or just the body.

A lift doesn't make any more room to fit larger tires.

based on your description I'd just add better tires that would fit and leave the suspension alone.

Bigger tires aren't always needed for successful offroading.

If you'll run the stock wheels, you can run some pretty tall 'skinny' tires and achieve actual lift at the axle lines, something a suspension lift doesn't do.

I’d get some better tires and skids and THEN figure out if you even need a lift for what you want to do.
