    Yea man for now I’m gonna try and get by using stock coils . Will probably upgrade in the future, that seems like a really good deal though

    I have a 12 taco 2x4 prerunner with 3” “block” lift and bilstein 5100 set at stock height... I would like to see about moving the 5100s up a few notches. Can this be done or do I need to modify other stuff as well ie: brake lines and cross members ext. thanks in advance

    nice truck... I can't tell by pic, does that bumper have winch mount? How much was it? I currently have HWMS bumper but want to change to one like yours without braking the bank.

    Hey guys I'm back! Been away for a while with Tundra's , and 4Runners. Now I'm back in a 3rd gen Taco! Full circle! LMAO!

    Glad to see this thread is still being used. I'm sure some of the information and links are outdated by now. But the gist of the information should still be sound!

    Maybe as time goes by I'll do a more updated version?

    Good Luck!

    Hope everyone has an Awesome Day!

    Perhaps an update using the RMAS system as a modest lift in the rear?

    Anyone put the 2015 TRD PRO suspension / lift on a TRD sport?

    Seems like a nice 3/4 inch lift, easy install and relatively cheap parts.

    So, without reading every page here, what components would be best with ...

    * 33" Tires
    * 17 X 9 6 X 139.7 3.50" -38mm wheels

    Mostly highway usage but some beach use (thick sand - high dunes - high tide) with an occasional big log or whatever in the way. Basically, built for surfing hard to reach spots in Texas and along the East coast.

    I know it's probably overkill but I'd like Coil overs with reservoirs.

    The Truck is a 2020 Tacoma Sport.

    Thanks for any input.

    I installed an RMAS kit(see post $207) and gained 1.5" lift in the rear.

    This thread helped a ton, ended up with 5100's and OME springs and an AAL and it's perfect. Little stiffer than before but gave just enough of a lift that I wont have to add the extended brake lines and fix my CV angles.

    I had a hard time understanding the original post here. It's clear that it contains a lot of information from an authoritative source, but it read like a glossary of terms without any synthesis, and I'm a bit confused.

    I am considering some modifications, including a lift, for my 2012 crew cab 4x4 Tacoma. The goal would be to moderately increase my off-road capability with minimal impact on fuel efficiency and 'feel'. I only care about getting safely, reliably into and out of the back country

    How do the different lift methods compare given my objective? What components or consideration take priority? What are critical? What are not?

    Thanks,
    A Rookie

    Hi, new member here. My 2nd gen 2wd 5lug has the axle mounted over the leaf springs. So lift blocks don't work. Can I reposition the axle under the leaf spring with some kind of bracketry to make it like all other model tacomas ?

    I think using the Blisten 5100s with my stock coils and new leaf packs should be a solid way to go, right? I've got a 2012 access cab offroad.

    I ran the 5100's at 1.5" and a four leaf pack for a few years, mostly for the leveling affect, and it ran fine.Truck_1.jpg

    I have a 2012 with OME shocks in the front and rear. For whatever reason the rear is 25” fender to center hub, but the front is only 21.5”? What can I do to raise the front that’s not going to break the bank?

    I added the Bilstein 5100's because Toyota had a ton of issues with their rear leaf springs, both with weight and the hateful squeaking. So it it is probably your rear leaf springs, maybe.

    They went from a 3-pack to a four leaf pack because people were bringing in their trucks bottomed out with 500-700lbs of weight (Toyota said it can hold 1000lbs) I was working at a Toyo dealership and people were borrowing 500- 1000lbs of sand bags from Home Depot to prove their trucks weren't capable of the load capacity and then they went to four leaves, which gave the higher font end. But the squeaking kept making them change the rear leaf pack and eventually went back to three.

    That being said, do you have a three or four leaf in the rear. If it's four, you can either buy a three leaf or go with the 5100's to level it out.

    Does it suck.... Yep.

    Hope this helps a little

    Wanting to do a lift/level on my '14 TRD sport. All the reading I have been doing leads me to understand that the TRD Sport has a different suspension package than the standard SR5 and the TRD Off-Road. Did some light/ moderate offroading in Colorado last summer on a completely stock setup (Minus the 265/70/r17 Toyo Open Country AT3's I put on just before) with no issues. I have about 200 extra pounds off racks and a tent on my truck 24/7, leading to a bit of squatting. It sits perfectly level without anything extra in the truck. A lot of my driving on the weekends consists of rough gravel roads with some light offroading. Wanting to provide a better ride (with bikes and a few people in the truck, I feel like I'm riding on the bump stops half the time.
    Leaning towards the Bilstein 5100 kit with the front clips set to position 3 or 4 (1.75ish lift is ideal), with the Wulf Suspensions 2" AAL kit. Anybody do this exact setup? I know I can't go wrong with the 5100's, but don't really want to drop 2-400 on a new leaf pack from OME.
