Trying to finish up my wiring on light bar and wanting to set up some things but am having troubles. Wanting to tap into the position of the dim/brights switch so the light is only able to turn on when switch is in brights position. Also trying to get it so it will work same way with the actual headlights turned on or off. Please help me out.

Already did. Now i want to use a relay and the position of the dim/bright switch to to give power to the switches that will power the lights.

You have a headlamp-high fuse that powers the highbeam. Get a fuse piggyback from oznium.com here and use that to power the switch. Done.

But that only works when headlights are on. I want to be able to use my light bar switches while the high/ low switch is in the high position but headlights are off. And then when they are on as well.

Going from your headlamp dimmer switch, terminal 11 is a red with green tracer wire. That is the high beam switch signal. It is a digital ground signal, so what you will need to do is get a relay, and a diode. Connect the diode inline with a wire from this ground signal to the ground control side of the relay that sends power to your switch. The reason you have to use a relay and a diode is that if you don't, then when you turn on the light bar, it would automatically turn on your high beams, no matter what your dimmer switch shows.

I'll say it. If you have to ask this question you shouldn't be wiring up accessories.

I'm trying to come up with a scenario of why you would want your light bar to come on without your lights but I'm not having much luck???

Just do it the easy way

Add a circuit to high beams

    20140528_094635_zps144d8a07_70b25977dfa721cca01e58599d73c01e7672ae8e.jpg

Flip on High Beams and light bar automatically comes on

Turn off light bar with high beams still on (sorry for the daylight picture)

So the question I guess is why do you want to run with just a light bar and no lights??? Maybe I'm reading it wrong but it doesn't make much sense?

Yeah, I know, way to resurrect an old thread.

So I do have a occasional use to have my light bar on without the headlights, temp work lighting. I have the LED bar connected to an Aux battery, so I am not worried about draining the battery. Right now I am tapped into the high beam control line at the switch, that runs to an On/Off switch for the LED bar, which then goes through a Diode to the relay.

If I trip this manually by applying ground, everything works great. When I connect up to the high beam control line, the Dimmer Relay buzzes when the LED bar is off. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

And my fallback is to wire it off the positive lead at the fuse box, but wanted to see if this problem could be resolved first.
