Same. It’s paid for itself many times over. I never use it like a Dick unless someone’s blinding me with China LED headlights.

There are some of us who live very very rural.... 1-200 miles from any city lights or any other signs of civilization. 2 lane blacktop and pitch-black outside... Where there are various critters wanting to commit suicide at the expense of your truck. (I'm looking at you Bambi..)
So you want and need any advantage you can get.

People in rural country areas where there are no street/highway lights and a deer or elk hiding in bushes waiting to jump out in front of you. The 37" is a lot, I make due with my 20" and LED lights

    Ok legal tint.

ticketed in California for tint (two front windows). Had to go to court in California.

also live in California now and got pulled over for ditch lights not covered. Although I wasn’t ticketed.

I've been on both sides of that. It's like looking at the sun so I end of blasting them back and we are both blinded and doing 60mph. Not a fun feeling

Reading the intro to this inquiry, one might have assumed the OP was talking about firearms...images_f5027e8904b88a3186c73851980afd965f0eceb3.jpg

Light bars are for the weak. I drive by candlelight.

That said, in my teens I duck taped a spare headlight to my roof pointed backwards and attached a switch to it. Not too long after I was driving down the main street of my small town when I got pulled over by my father’s highschool classmate who was a town cop. He asked me, “What the fuck is that?!” I replied that it was a backup light and apologizes profusely for forgetting it was on.

Plenty of people running ditch lights and light bars without covers in AZ.

To answer OP's question, you shouldn't get a ticket passing through another state if it's turned off, but not covered.

It's like CA's loud exhaust law. Doesn't apply to vehicles registered out of state or that are passing through or visiting.

I’m skeptical about this. AFAIK, a state’s laws apply to everyone in the state regardless of residency.

Regardless, I can’t imagine any police officer enforcing a light bar ban assuming they are not on while driving down the road.

I live on the northern outskirts of metro Atlanta and see those things, some to a ridiculous level, on jeeps and trucks all the time. The vast majority only use them when appropriate as far as I can tell. But that damn 1% is all it takes to piss everyone off.

And no, I don't have them on my Taco. But I am considering one for my JD Gator.

I live in the middle of the city. When I'm running around the home and town, I never ever ever run the light bar, the brights or cruise control.

When I'm camping in the deep boonies several hundred miles away from home...

Just don’t drive with it on constantly. I’ve used mine on public roads plenty of times but always turn it off when other cars are remotely near. I’ve also passed cops hidden on the shoulder with it on and never had any issues. I wouldn’t be too concerned with the legalities, just be considerate of other drivers.

We have magnetic light bar covers that sit flush on the clear lens portion only. Helps with that light bars that are installed in the grill or bumper.
