! light on with the message: 'New feature available' ????

In the main message window under the steering wheel I have had the 'New feature available' message on for a couple of weeks, then the ! light in the triangle is on.

Not in the manual -help!

 

update the software??? idk

 

@AZ_J there has to be firmware or software in the dash computer that runs all the lights, and sensors

 

I am intrigued. I might buy in if yours was a 2020+ with connected services? I'm confused being a 2017.

The ECU and head unit firmware updates don't seem to affect the instrument display that I have seen.

 

@tonered I will confirm what the message actually says but the ! sign has not other accompanying indicators other than that 'Update' message so I'm not sure what else it can be indicating. There is nothing in the manual for this.

 

There isn't. It is a new one, as far as I know.

That just brings up warning lights and highlight the low tire(s). A feature update is a strange one.

 

When the tpms is low does it not give you an ! I can't remember. My truck is different..

Yes. It is a triangle ! in the speedo and maybe in the upper row of the center display. But, no unique text that I can remember.

 

Warning light. Probably has something to do with this 'new feature'.

Can you not just 'ok' it and see what happens? The truck won't blow up.

Yes it will annoy you about 500 miles before your next service is due, not just oil changes. Tire rotation is also due between oil changes along with various inspections. Check your service manual to see what is due. If you push the reverse arrow on the steering wheel bottom R, it will go away. Unfortunately every time you restart the vehicle if comes back

Hmm, wonder if resetting the the maintenance required light will turn it off.
