I had a alignment today and now I have tire rub on the front flares. My question is if I move my upper control arms from neutral (+2) to +1 will that change caster and camber enough for a realignment? I know it will move my caster but I am also afraid it will move my camber. The truck steers great right now and tracks very good. I know I will lose some of my driveability but I need to get the tires off of the flares.

Sorry if I am hi-jacking your thread, but I am in a similar situation. Had my Light Racing upper control arms installed and now I am rubbing when close to having the wheel fully cranked. My alignment wasn't terrible before the install, but there was no rubbing either. Not sure if getting proper alignment will mean I will have some rubbing or if the tech got it close and called it good.

What are your alignment numbers? What lift?

Ome 2.5 in. lift 885 coils 3 leaf aal. Not sure what the exact numbers are I had my a friend do my alignment. I told him to set the caster+2.5 to +3 with 0 camber and 0 toe. He is pretty precise so I know it's right on those numbers or really damn close. I have 255/85s stock off road wheels with spider trax wheel spacers.

That's a pretty tall tire for a 2.5" lift. The wheel spacers may be making the rubbing worse.

To answer your question, yes, you will need an alignment when changing positions on the UCA. Also, moving the UCAs from +2 to +1 position will move the top of the strut assembly forward, which may make your problem worse.

Reducing caster at the LCA (during alignment) will move the bottom of the strut assembly towards the rear of the vehicle, giving your more clearance up front. Unfortunately, the trade-off is less clearance at the rear of the fender (where the mud flap mounts) and lighter steering due to the lower caster. You may have to compromise desired alignment numbers to find a balance. Alternatively you can trim the flares or get a plate bumper for added clearance, which is what I ended up doing on my previous truck.

Sorry for the misleading info. When I said front flare I didn't mean rubbing the front of the flare. It's rubbing on the back of the front flare. I have already removed my mud flaps.

moving the caster adjustment will also move your camber adjustment as the ball joint spins around the central point.

I am going to max out my caster and see what I can get by adjusting my upper control arms. (Using 2nds advice). Thanks for the help. I will let you all know how it turns out.

Doing this will move the tire even further forward.... causing more rub where the OP is experiencing it.

The OP corrected and said he is rubbing on the back of the fender.

So I set my caster by turning the rear adjuster all the way out and turned the front all the way in. I set my camber to zero and I got the toe close. Right now my uppers are set at +1 so 3 degrees total. I am not sure what my caster I'd but it handles decent. I have alignment scheduled for fri. My tires are centered in the wheel well. I guess we will see what happens Friday.

So after some thinking( dangerous I know). When setting caster now should you fine tune it with the lower control arms? Is there a possibility that the ball joints on the uppers will have to be set in different positions to get the caster the same in both sides?
