Here in the state of MA we need to have our vehicle inspected with-in 7 days and the inspection sticker is placed on the windshield passenger side.

As I was driving during daylight, I notice that my headlights were on and not my DRL. I did have the control on AUTO lights. It seems the inspection sticker is blocking the sun light on the sensor and thereby fooling the light sensor to being dusk or night time.

I'll be taking a hairdryer to the inspection sticker and hopefully will be able to relocate it.

Another option might be to adjust the sensitivity of the light sensor.... go to SETUP/vehicle/lights/and change it... it's set at 3 from factory..... lower is LESS sensitive more is greater ..... 1 to 5 scale.....!!

I changed mine for fun and the lights were coming on under the canopy at the gas station....Too sensitive for me... I put it back..

    Good luck

Hi- Also, a MA resident and the sticker is blocking my sensor activating the headlights during the day. Will have dealer correct since they applied the sticker.

Relocating the inspection sticker was pretty easy. I took a hair dryer and a single blade razor to remove it. As the glue heats up, you slowly scrape the sticker off. I relocated it about 6 inches higher and set the light sensor to "two bars". Its been working fine ever since.

Selling dealer put new sticker on about 4 inches above sensor and this corrected the problem. I also adjusted the sensor level from 5 down to 1. Thanks.

I know this might be a silly question, but can you please tell me where the sensor is located on the truck?
I live in CA so I have no sticker, and my lights are on during day time and the problem is only solved when bring it to the carwash, so I realized that the sensor is dirty but I could not locate it :(
    Thanks

The adhesive on those stickers is terrible. If you peeled and removed, you will see it falling off in a few weeks under the hot sun.

I am from MA as well. I didn't have any issues with my sticker blocking the light sensor, and I put my sticker on at the lowest possible spot I can on the windshield. I thought about it interfering, but in practice the thin paper is pretty translucent and didn't interfere with the sensor enough to cause the lights to behave strangely. Although it could be because of my changes. See my next post.

I HATE how you can see the sticker from the inside of the windshield while driving, even if it is in the opposite corner. Looks like crap. I am originally from NH and I think the location of their sticker is the best. It's in the center of the windshield, right under the mount for the rearview mirror. You can't see it from inside the car, and law enforcement can see it easier from the outside because it is mounted in a higher position. Everyone wins.

You can actually go above and beyond, if you know someone with a Techstream (your dealer), you can independently change independently the threshold of when the the exterior lights turn on, and when the interior lights (displays and backlighting) dim. I like my headlights to turn on earlier, when it is dusk...but also leave the interior backlighting bright for as long as possible, so it is still easy to see the controls/displays. If you leave the settings as is from the factory, they both happen at the same time.

People always say the dealer can't help them, but if you read the back of the owners manual, it tells you every adjustment they can make on Techstream.
