Okay. I have question regarding led light wiring for a couple ditch lights. These will be using a factory aux switch. With that said.
You can see I have 3 wires red - main light power, white - amber backlight, black- negative. How can this work with no ground?

I tested unmounted and double checked. It functions and those are the right positives/negatives.

is it common to bot have a ground? I have seen where some say a metal light housing to the truck is grounding but these weren't attached. Ive got to be over thinking it. Just not trying to blow a fuse.

Not really sure what you're asking. The black wire is your ground/negative lead. You can splice the white and red together to the switch to have them both come on at the same time when the switch is activated. Or you can put the red wire to the switch and the white to a switched 12v circuit. Probably tee into the DRL circuit on the headlights. Your choice.

Yeah man. 12v wiring is 1000x easier than house wiring!

For some people it is just as hard.

In your house it is 120/220V AC, in a Car is 12V DC. They are 2 completely different electrical system (AC v DC).
