Is that the actual music video. A bunch of hipsters in a Pro, lol. I pictured this song with some hot chick in a beat 1st gen on 33's and a dirt bike in the back. Once again high school chicks ruined county music.

Oh boy. Noise is the least of your problems.

Just wait until local RCMP ticket you for driving around with an uncovered lightbar and pods on the hood. (You do know that's illegal in BC, right? Any aftermarket lighting above headlamps needs to be covered on the roads, and they do very much ticket for that.)

Make life easier for yourself - take that junk off.

If you have to have a lightbar, put it in your bumper/grill. No noise to worry about, and considerably less police attention.

Just take it off, the glare off the hood makes them worthless anyway.

This guys asking the real questions.

I wish the rest of you jokers would be this serious.

It’s a shitty CaliRaised LED too, which means he probably followed directions and used a 1.5” stepbit to install the mounts, now he has to run the roof bar or his cab will flood out in rain.

    Brutal. Just fucking brutal.

    What haven’t I changed?
I've done both and I can still hear mine whistling. The only solution I've found is to drive faster. Now I know that when the whistling comes back, it means the car in front of me needs to move to the slow lane.

    Agreed ...
The song even says "Wheels rollin on an old toyota..." I am thinking something more like this, but older... and much crustier (this one is nice):

    SASTaco.jpg

a 2018 TRD Pro... is not an OLD TOYOTA by anyone's definition

I had mine mounted exactly where yours is with the cali raised brackets and it hummed so bad that my roof vibrated and could not even talk in the cab. To reduce noise i installed 1/4” tubing between each heatsink and filled every other fin with black silicone. This reduced the noise about 50% this will pretty much make the lightbar un resaleable. I then installed black duct tape along the bottom & top front edge of the bar covering the little screw heads. This reduced noise again.

In the long run i indeffinetly removed the lightbar gave a bodyshop my left nut to weld in the holes and paint then fabricated some brackets to mount it onto my prinsu. Still with the 1/4” tubing and the black silicone. No noise unless theres a perfect crosswind. And even then its barely noticeable. Hope this helps op.

I ended up having to use a medium-high density foam trimmed slim enough to stuff in between the fins on the back.

Just at the ends? That shouldn't affect the cooling and sounds like a great solution.

Another 3rd gen post about some type of superfluous complaint.
Lately I click on a complaint thread and its 9/10 a third gen owner.

Good chance it might be their first Tacoma and perhaps the first truck they upgraded. LED bars (in affordable prices) are still relatively new and probably very few have knowledge or experience with such equipment.
The off road type vehicles I had in the past had (or I installed) traditional lighting.
It wasn't until 2015 that I purchased my first light bar.
The other factor is that, unfortunately, the off-road accessory mod/expo has gone ape shit.
I did do my research though.
    On a second note;
I had a CaliRaised 32 inch bar, now have a CaliRaised Osram pod set and a CaliRaised fog light replacement set with amber pods.
I have had no problems with this equipment at all.
Sure it's no Ridged, VisionX, or Baja Designs but they are much better than the cheep crap on Amazon.

It is a TacomaWorld thing... Here is how it goes...

3rd Gen person posts a complaint...

1st Gen person almost immediately post with either...
    A. a completely worthless posts that doesn't help out at all...
    or
    B. a post complaining about how 3rd gen people always complain...

lol this is a perfect example of "TacomaWorld" Welcome! :bananadead:

Light bar 52 inch curved Cali raised, Trd pro grille, Trd exhaust, bed tie downs, ditch lights.
Looking back wasnt the beat mounting option just going to back fill the riv nuts with rtv and a low profile screw to prevent water leak and just take the dam thing off more of a pain then worth it at this point.

Better to go with a bumper lightbar where I just won’t have this stupid noise all the time.

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner

Well, as long as every 3rd gen owner keeps complaining about something, not searching or starting threads for something that’s already been solved, it’s likely going to continue.

    If the shoe fits...

Oh it will never end... I have seen it a thousand times on a thousand forums. People don't use the search feature (mostly new people a lot of whom own 3G trucks) and there is always that group who thinks their :poking: don't stink... This forum seems like it is a lot of the 1G guys (no worries someone has to do it, a lot of them have probably been around a while  "git off my lawn") it's all good!

    Sorry OP :threadjacked: my bad...

I never understood this shit. Like “fuck those pre-existing bolt holes on the roof let’s fuck up the A-pillars”. For a designated desert brawler sure but otherwise wtf.
