Would I be able to wire a 24” led lightbar into my stock hi-beams , I’d rather not have a separate switch and will only be used briefly when I’m occasionally driving and need a blast of xtra light , I know it depends on the fuse rating of the stock lights , I believe ..
    Thank you for your feedback

It would be best to put the lightbar on it's own relay energized by the high beam circuit.

You might want to check the legality of running a lightbar on the road in your state.

Yes. However you just need a relay. Tap the high beam to power the relay coil and use an add a fuse to actually power the lightbar.

you may want or need a cut out switch anyway

It can be done, more than likely it’s not legal. Almost all the light bars if not all are labeled off road use only.

You may need a way to shut off the lightbar to pass inspections. So a switch may be needed. This is the setup I have.

I’ve done exactly this. Used a relay, and triggered it so the light bar turns on with the high beams. It’s very handy having the high beam stalk activate it vs a button next to the steering wheel.

Well like I said it’s for “only” when I need it , driving with your hi-beams on or driving 180 mph is also illegal but that don’t stop car manufacturers from enabling your car to do so ....

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to stop the tons of idiot's on the highways at night who could give a shit about blinding everyone else on the road. I drive tractor trailers every night from West Palm Beach to Orlando and back on the Florida Turnpike and the amount of jackbags who find the need to run their lightbars simple amazes me.

Driving with you high beams on is not illegal, you can drive with them as long as you are not with 500 ft of oncoming traffic so you don’t blind them.

You can also use your foglight switch and wiring if you replace the fog lights with LED pods as well. I had a 20” light bar and two 4” pods triggered off the stock fog light wiring and switch, only mod I had to do was the anytime fog mod. As long as the power draw of your LEDs are less than the stock halogens it will work and be easy to do. This way you can use the LEDs with headlights turned off or in low or high beam.
