Definitely going to want those reinforcements if you ever had to do a hard pull on that. The additional leverage by raising the reciever that high would put a pile of extra strain on our already piddly frame mounts.

The factory, actual, bumper is mounted pretty secure. It's a short piece of aluminum 2x4 bolted directly to the frame, the same mount location as the after market bumpers.

It will when I make up the cables or set up the rear battery, it is on the list.

The second link is the reinforcement brackets that I went with. Without the reinforcement, Adam at 4x Innovations said the hitch alone is good for a 9500 pound winch, then I added the brackets.

I just reread the title, OP is looking for a full coverage bumper....sorry, I'm a little off.

Anyone worried about corrosion, butting up an aluminum bumper to the steel frame, then mixing in road salt/brine? Besides the paint/powdercoat, I suppose a layer of cosmoline between the two should ease that concern.

That victory strike bumper is neat, and exceptionally light. Pricey though.

Yeah, out here in the desert, this bumper and truck will be around long after I am gone. I figure the paint and very nicely done powder coating will be good for years to come.

I wonder how much anodizing and dyeing would cost in comparison to powdercoating...

I was talking about the reciever bumper not the victory. But still the way any bumper mounts to these frames is like I said piddly. More and more reinforcements or complete frame cap replacements are coming out for a reason.

The receiver bumper mounts exactly where the victory or any other aftermarket bumper mounts to the frame, it's definitely a stout piece of hardware, gusseted above and below. upload_2023-10-5_1-11-22.jpgAnd then reinforced with the reinforcement brackets that add 3 more grade 8 bolts to the mix. upload_2023-10-5_1-14-49.jpgupload_2023-10-5_1-14-49.jpgAbout the frame, there’s not much most of us are going to do about that, now is there.

Your over looking one component regardless of how the piece is built raising the location the force is applied above the mounts to the frame that leverage amplifies the force the mounts see. The majority try to mount the winch plate as close to the mounts for better force distribution. That's why I'm saying it's a good thing you have the reinforcement brackets

Got it on there. Screwed up a little on the cut. I'll have another project coming up to fix that. Super happy with the bumper. 48 pounds for a full winch bumper! The frame reinforcement, probably added about 2 pounds. I would say 50 pounds all together.

Went from 15mph to 17.5mph first 250 mile, 70mph ish , interstate run with the new bumper. Never thought about it before buying it but easy to see the aero advantage over the Body Armor Desert Series. That BA bumper is really good at pushing brush etc out of you way. I just thought, it's been a couple of years and, time for a new look for the Blue Taco.

^^^CaptainBart45 does that bumper tie into the bottom of the crossmember? Did you/are you going to install a bumper reinforcement bracket to tie it more into the frame?

Not to the cross member, however it does come with reenforcement brackets that connect it to the frame. At 17:30 you can see the brackets.https://youtu.be/kOuiJQipbGw?si=TZS-QguI6OvhY6Zq
