Lights dimming and now the radio turning off when I hit the brakes.

Has anyone had a problem with the lights dimming when they hit the brakes? It doesn't do it all the time but most the time. Also, the radio occasionally will turn off and come back on when I hit the brakes. My taco is a 2019 with just over 10k miles on it.

 

Short in the break light? check the break lights for water leaks.

 

Check the battery cables. Ground or power might be loose.

 

2019 with 10K miles, sounds like a dealers problem! Carry it back it should be under warrantty

 

I’ve heard of an entire car shutting off (engine and all) after the installation of an aftermarket head unit, when the radio was turned on...

 

2019??? -- you have a Warranty -- take it in to a Toyota dealer -- that is unless you have screwed the truck over with some mod(s) YOU did to it.

 

My headlights also dim whenever I gun the engine while driving on the snow...

 

There isn't any mods, I just figured I'd ask if it was a common thing here before I talked to the dealership.

 

Unrelated, but made me chuckle...Years back when cd changers were a thing, I had one installed in my GFs Jetta. Whenever you honked the horn the changer would skip to the next cd

 

Seems like it's a good excuse to honk "I'm just trying to change the cd! It's hands free you know!"

 

That is not a common problem, you have already been advised to see the nearest dealer with this issue.
You know what to do.

 

Yep, take that thing to the dealership.
