Hello, I am new member to the forum, Renee LaMay. I have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma that has been running great until recently. On August 17, 2019, while at a drive through fast food restaurant, I heard a hissing sound and saw what appeared to be steam coming from under carriage of truck. Noticeable enough to get me out of the truck to look at it. I did not see anything to be concerned with, so went about business as usual. I have heard this noise sporadically since then and noticed the A/C is not properly working. I decided to park the truck until I could take it in for a diagnosis. Well, yesterday, I went to start the truck after being garaged for 3 weeks. The truck stalled starting and then went "haywire"....instrument panel lights flashing, interior lights flashing, idle was loud, wipers wiping - all at once. I turned the truck off and when I tried to start it up again, the truck would not start. So, I charged the battery and was able to get the truck running again, but now the rear blinkers are not working and the stereo will not come on at all. Any recommendations? I just paid my baby off 6 months ago.

Your symptoms are all over the board.

Hissing-"steam"= Coolant leak or AC refrigerant leak
"haywire" lights flashing= low voltage, possible alternator failure
    loud idle=?
No start=possible alternator failure or corroded cables
Rear turn signals and radio not working=Possible blown fuses from futzing around

Thank you....I checked fuses and the one for radio keeps "popping" upon starting after being replaced....corroded cables, yes, they were, but it had only been parked for 3 weeks....why so much in three weeks? They are brass posts. This truck is usually parked.....

Wonder what the root cause is? Sounds like you several problems but it all started from one issue maybe? The truck never overheated right? Serp belt is still there?

I like the serpentine belt idea. If it's gone, it could cause overheating, no AC, and weird electrical issues as your truck slowly drains the battery.

Battery voltage was possibly too low when you started it, I had a similar thing happen on a Toyota Camry many years ago. Check fuses for blinkers and stereo.

    Welcome and good luck!

Not exactly sure what you'd get without it. The few times in my life I've started an engine without a belt I sure as shit wasn't wasting any time looking at the dash lights. But I have to think that driving without water circulation is gonna toast that long block rather soon. Let's hope OPs problem is something less serious.
