Nice. The only refinement I would make is on the stalk switch, I would just tap 19 (low beam). When it is grounded, 18 is as well, so no need for both.

That is incorrect. We are bypassing the stalk switch, so they both need to be tapped.

When 19 is grounded, it turns the parking lights on. At least on my truck that is the way it acts. It's in the diagram as well.

Again, through the light stalk. We are bypassing it.

Ya know, it's not fucking hard to turn either your wipers or your headlights on when it's raining. Maybe check yourself into an intervention if you cannot do this in two seconds.

I like having independent control of each one so i get to decide when i turn each one on or off. I enjoy making those decisions for myself.

I have been wanting to do this too. We have the same law here in KY...not that they enforce it. It drives me nuts when people don't have their lights on in the rain though. Depending on the conditions it can be hard to see them. While it's easy to just turn the lights on when turning on wipers it would be nice to have them come on auto.

I don't use the auto headlight feature. I want my taillights on every time my headlights are on. Daytime rain on auto = no tail lights. A lot of auto manufacturers goofed up with this.

I'm pretty sure the Georgia law around all of this is lights are required to be on when raining. This requirement is not tied to the actual movement of the wiper blades.

The whole point of DRLs is that they are always running, during the daytime. You should leave them on all the time.

Also, if you guys are worried about forgetting to turn the lights on in the rain, then just leave them on all the time.

I honestly hate auto lights I think they make people laze and perpetuate this lights problem when there is low visibility conditions such as rain or fog. That being said…I love the look of the DRL on mine so I keep it on auto. Annoys me though when my headlight turn on in my garage.

Dumped the Tacoma, that's all it needed.
I just leave my lights on at all times. When I lock the truck, they turn off.

For most people they should be on all the time, yes, but there are many times when you might not want them on or you just don' need them on. The real point is that all this talk about having your headlights come on automatically when it's raining is misguided. It's actually the DRL's that should be coming on automatically and it's the DLR's that are far more effective in the daytime than headlights, particularly modern projector units and many LED units in those situations where being seen in inclement weather is the issue. Before the days when all cars were equipped with DRL's then it made sense to legislate for your headlights being on all the time like they did early on in Sweden but that also drastically shortened halogen bulb life (well, not really the bulb life in hours but shortened the time between bulb changes) which does not exist with LED DRL's.

We started swapping out our headlights in our old Datsun 510's and 240Z's in the mid 1970's from the really horrible sealed beams to Cibié H4 and those (still) crazy good H1 pencil beam high beams and would drive with our headlights on whenever it was raining but even more importantly, whenever you were on a two lane non-divided highway, particularly when we were on our way from Monterey to the Sierras and Yosemite where the entire route was on two lane highways. Oncoming drivers would often flash us because they didn't yet understand why we had our headlights on during the day, but slowly you started seeing even the state of California take notice and start having "Daylight Test Sections" of highway like CA46 between Lost Hills and Paso Robles, which were particularly high in head-on collisions, being stretches of highway where headlights were required all the time. Had James Dean had his lights on, on that very highway, maybe history would be different. Today that road only has a very short section that is not divided highway and is a much safer drive than it used to be.

Dependent on precipitation volume, visibility, lighting conditions, speed, and the environment I'm driving in. I like to use parking lights, a combination of parking lights and fog lights, or the headlights, maybe even with the fogs. If it's a light mist in city traffic and I'm not going to get above 25mph, or out of 3rd gear. I don't the headlights glaring in people's rearview, or in the face's of oncoming traffic. Same as if I'm on the highway in a steady rain hoping to get somewhere close to the speed limit my full headlights should be on.

There's always some chuckle head somewhere with glaring LED headlights and as many lightbars their alternator can keep up with, all on simply because it's cloudy.

People in MD really don't understand how the turn signal works. It's not even the people who don't use it. It's the one's that do. That won't signal until it's very late, it's like they think they are sneaking into traffic or sneaking a right turn in front of you. It's a signal you want people to see it. People have told me that won't signal to change lanes because other drivers will speed up so you can't change lanes. Which is true, but why would that stop you from changing lanes or getting over when it's necessary?

Vehicles with the lights coming on with the windshield wipers will have a delay of about 30 seconds so that you don't have your lights turning on and off when you use the manual quick wipe or use the washer fluid spay to clean the windshield.

Depends on the vehicle some have auto wipers that will turn on and give a quick wipe or if it is raining they will stay on, the headlight feature will normally have a 30 second delay so the lights are not turning on and off every time the wipers are tuned on for less than thirty seconds or for just a quick wipe.
