I doubt if that is possible with a 3rd gen Tacoma. Given the seperate head light, and wiper stalk.

Are there any Toyota or Lexus vehicles that operate in that fashion?

I'm not seeing anything about a delay in activating the lights. Once the wipers are activated, maybe I missed that somewhere. The only thing I ever drove that had the lights come in with the wipers it was immediately. The controls on a Toyota seem very basic which is a good thing, I'm thinking there isn't much communication between the lights and wipers for there to be a delay?

Like I said, I thinks it's a good feature and if that's what somebody wants on their vehicle I have no objections. I don't necessarily need it or want that on my vehicle.

Have you looked into the vehicle settings for this feature using software? There are lots of settings in modern vehicles.

I didn't look that closely at the diagram. Now I see you implemented a relay with a built in delay.

Oh, the late signalers aren't near as bad as the ones that turn them on 2 blocks, or more, before they're ready to turn.

Because people are stupid! I drove through blinding rain today and so many idiots didn't have lights on.

Does each state accept DRLs as headlights being turned on?

Basic need to be seen is visual and the DRLs provide that requirement...does the law specifically say "Headlight" to be turned on?

I'm set to "auto" which means my DRLs are always on and the headlights turn on when darkness/nightfall is sensed.

If I didn't have the features I do in my Sport, I'd manually turn on the headlights.

I've been turning on my headlights with rain long before it was required. I also turn on my fog lights if it's raining extremely hard. That doesn't do much to enhance what I see, but puts out a little more light for oncoming traffic to see me which is what I worry about.

Headlights on when it's raining is one thing but there SHOULD be a law that requires headlights when it's foggy. When you live in a rural area there seems to be an ongoing problem with turning on your lights when it's foggy... then idiots without them on love to pass vehicles at 30 over the speed limit because they are late to work. I've been run off the road twice because some moron was passing a slow moving vehicle (you know, because it's stupid foggy out) only to see their silver vehicle at the very last possible second. But don't worry, after running me and other drivers off the road they didn't stop to see if anyone was OK or anything.

Next time in the daylight, when it's overcast and rainy, and you have your headlight switch set to auto. It's dark enough to where your headlights will be on... but get out and go back and look to see if your taillights are on... thank me later. 2013 Ram 3500, 2019 Chrysler 300, 2020 Ram rebel 1500, and 2022 Toyota tacoma. All my vehicles do the same thing. No Auto headlight switch on for me on anything I own. I just do the same thing I have always done. Turn my lights on when it's raining. no brainer.. It was in the driver manual in 1983.. maybe not anymore. not sure
