I was thinking more along the lines of OP was having issues dimming things such as the dash and radio ect, just wanting the brake lights is obviously illegal only

    Haha.

Brake lights easy. Wire in a relay to feed.
    DRL same as above
    Headlights same as above.
Illumination for dash same as above.
    Radio light same as above.

Very simple to do using a couple relays fuses and wire and a single switch. But cutting the wires on a newer truck hardly worth it IMO.
To each their own. On your own figuring out factory wiring locations though.

With a little thought and rigging can be done with no cutting.

My other truck has a "blackout drive" light setting but I have never used it. If its good enough for the .gov then I have no problem with OP wanting to do this.

By that logic I should also be embezzling cash, shooting minorities, and double parking because I'm late to pick up my lunch order.

first of all.... this might....possibly...be... somewhat.... true

and second of all i live in mississippi i can get away with anything :bananadance:

so I'm sure its illegal but i also want it for off roading and driving up to my deer stand. but uhhh i don't think i should tell you the main reasons i want it because then uhhhh. the sheriff might come to my house again.... anyways I'm pretty good at wiring so i think i have a good way of doing it but I'm not sure if 1 12volt switch can handle all that do i need a relay(I'm not good with relays) or another fuse box or something.
