Hey Ive got a pretty good light setup on my 99 tacoma, but Im looking for something to go by my mirrors. Something that will light up out my side windows and cut through my tint at night. Ive been thinking about a bracket that I can screw to the bottom of my mirror arms and then bolt a couple more of the led lights I have on the front of my truck to them. I think I have seen this done before but info on doing this or something like it is spotty. Anybody got any ideas?

Nah haha. I thought I explained it good but something that will light up to the left an right outside my windows. Im light up pretty good in front of me but i got some pretty dark tint and if I don't have the windows open I really can't see anything. I'd like to have something I can flip on when I'm in the woods or even on the street sometimes so I can see out my windows at night. Make sure I either don't hit animals on the highway. Or people in the city haha

You want to be talking to Blackdog. Look at the link in his signature to put LED's in the mirrors, facing out.

They pretty bright? How much $? And what is their power draw? I might be able to run them into my existing light switch

Very little draw. I have them on a seperate switch. They aren't stupid bright. But work great for improving the FOV from the cab. My favorite trail lights as well.

By far some of my favorite lights.

6w LEDs. so about 2 amps draw.

I have been charging 250 a pair. Plus i give you 20 bucks back if you send me your old mirrors. I build them a set at a time usually and am working on one set now.

See that's out of my price range. I like them. But I could do what I was talkin bout with a couple more of my leds for bout 60 bucks plus whatever the brackets cost. Kinda lookin for what jeeps do but on the mirror arm

There is a company that makes a hood mount (at least for 2nd Gens, not sure about 1st Gens). It mounts to the hood hinge so you can mount a light on the back corner of the hood. Not quite a mirror mount but I'd bet it could be aimed to accomplish what you're trying to get done.

yea i wish i could bring the cost down. But thats mostly parts. hardly any labor charged and its a ton of work to make them.

There are no 1st gen hood mounts that are production made. FamousFab does 2nd gen ones though.

Thanks guys. I think I'm gonna try to find a triangular shaped plate that I can put a couple screws into the mirror an bolt the lights to those
