Just purchased my 17 TRD Sport DCLB with Entune Premium 7" non JBL head unit. I removed my Taco Tunes speaker upgrade out of my 06, and installed it fit into my 17, perfect fit. Also added the Subaru tweeter upgrade, like others suggested. My question is.... will this head unit be able to connect a 3rd Gen OEM JBL sub to it? Is it a plug a play? Are the harnesses and plugs all sitting ready for this upgrade? Was lucky for my Ford FX4, hoping the same here. Cheers Al

Nope, won’t be plug/play. Wiring is totally different for JBL vs non-JBL.

Also not very feasible because the JBL head unit only sends a L/R signal to the amp, and all fade/balance/EQ is done digitally in the amp. It wouldn’t be worth it to try to make it work.

For less money, you can buy an empty factory sub enclosure (or one with a blown sub in it) and buy your own amp and a better subwoofer.

Yep why make things easy huh. Thanks Destin. I have a pioneer amp and a sound ordnance from my 06 taco kickin around i might reinstall in my 17 taco, or i need to dip into the beer funds i guess. Cheers
