I know you're being sarcastic, but I do wish the door cup holders didn't have the individual dividers. If it was a removable insert it would be easier fit cargo straps or other non-round items there. Especially the ones in the back. No one will put passengers in the rear long enough that they would need that many beverages.

I also wish the 4WD selector knob was a 1/16" to the right. Sometimes it bugs my leg.

    Obviously, I'm picking nits...

Well I am sorry I answered with my dislikes. Seen as you’re so smart and I am so dump can you explain something to me? If it’s a company truck that I was told to buy, just how did I become the stupid one or maybe you’re the one who has issues! But hey thanks for showing your a total a…… great guy! Sorry we all can’t live up to your standards next time I’ll call you! thanks for being a Richard cranium or should I use your nick name “dick head”

First of all no where in your review do you mention that you don't own the truck, you're review implies that you do. If I had known this I would not have commented about checking things out first .Second, because you don't own it ,why would you be concerned about rock chips and paint being soft.

So I guess if you only drive it every day, but didn't sign on the dotted line to purchase it, you have no right to review anything, so shut up and keep driving? The OP did say owners...

Coming from a 1st gen I absolutely love my 4th gen. My dislike list is really really small. The most common being the rear fender design. Rock magnet. My other dislike and it’s probably not even a truck issue more of a IPhone software issue is I was disconnecting from CarPlay a lot. But I got a new phone and that seemed to fix that. Other than that I absolutely love the powertrain it just goes effortlessly. I do have a clunk that Toyota deemed normal but I’ve almost gotten used to it at this point.

No where in his review do
There is no reference to owners in his review, if stated it would have been a different reply to his review

Well it’s not really any of your business but if you must know. The last work truck I had my boss gave it to me at 100k and wrote it off so that’s why I feel like I got skin in the game and want to voice my opinion. So if I can keep it fairly clean and not get it all jacked up I’ll get a decent truck in five or six years that I can sale on to a fan boy. So let me ask you this, is my opinion really hurting your feelings or making you feel uncomfortable about your choices? Maybe there a deeper issue like daddy didn’t hug you enough or maybe he touched you to much in all the wrong ways and now your reaching out trying to bully others because of it? Or do you always just jump off at the drop of the hat? Now if you don’t mind I’ll just go my way and you can go yours and I’ll even wish you luck dealing with the hand God dealt you.[/QUOTE]

This is a weird topic. One is a truck and the other is a truck with a permanent topper. both vehicles have similar tech, interior is the same with more room in the back seat. Engine is the same and exterior design is very very very similar. You’ve lived with a truck for years… can you live without a truck going forward?

I'm curious whether the OP is referring to the new 4R or not...he said 5th gen, which is significantly different from the 4th gen Tacoma. The 6th gen 4R is the one you are referring to...

Op mentions new vehicle. Not sure if the 5th gen 4Runner are still in production or on dealer lots.

I'm curious about this design criticism. I used the 4wd selector the other day while driving over a pass into snowy/icy roads and it was easy but I did actually think that it was poorly placed because I had to look down for a moment (dash location would seem slightly safer) but the size of the knob didn't bother me.

I think it is a brilliant location and design. When bouncing around a cabin trying to keep it together, drop your right hand and there it is. Sure beats a knob on the dash bulkhead and another friggin one on the overhead console. Now that was some serious design stupidity. Double thumbs up from me on the entire interior. Knocked it out of the park.

but if your right leg was really meaty I could see how your leg flesh could spill over onto the center console and block your access to the 4WD knob

personally, I don't mind the center console knob

If someone's spilling over the console that much they should spill on out of the Waffle House and spill on over to Barnes and Noble for some diet books.

24' TRD OR 6MT and the likes far outweigh the little things that bug me. Loved my 2015 OR, Love this one more.

Something not mentioned much in the last 3 pages... the boxed frame (and the method they use for reinforcing high stress areas) is really awesome... plenty of drain holes too and the frame sections appear to be filled with some type of wax. Excellent. Also- anyone who has ever had to cut their lower control arms out due to the bushings being seized to the bolts... that's been addressed as well. Lots of attention paid to details that you may not see. I've been well impressed.

The 4th gen Tacoma has only one type of material on the floor. Carpet.
