When I bought my Tacoma Off Road (all decked out) a week ago I did not have an opportunity to see a TRD Pro because there were not available for me to see or test drive. I bet that I would have paid the extra bucks to get a Pro if I would have seen and test driven one. I'm not necessarily regretting my purchase but leather seats would have been nice to have.

Pro in my opinion has better leather but is also missing a few of the amenties the Limited has, primarily the JBL sound upgrade. Others may think it isn't that great, but for something from the factory it isn't bad at all and is an upgrade over the stock unit. While it is true you can get better aftermarket sound systems, I have no intention nor desire to rip out parts of my truck to do any of that. Had I known they were going to make a Pro in December 2015, I would have probably waited, despite the JBL missing. That being said, it's hard to go wrong with the Limited if you want "leather" despite it not being real leather. But if you want the locker, the Pro is the way to go, that doesn't exist for Limiteds. I didn't need one and basic 4x4 was all I cared about.

    Working on it.
No moon roof. The trade off is a higher ceiling. My head hits the roof in the moonroof models. If you are 6' or taller I suggest you sit in one and make sure in your preferred driving position you have enough headroom.

Sounds like you want a Pro.

I'd say a TRD off-road, but does not come with leather at all. And the limited isn't worth a crap, because it doesn't have the crawl control and off road features.

You could get a Off-Road and just add Katzkin for about another $1200 ish... Cheaper than buying a pro, and the leather is top notch, fully replaces cloth interior, not just a cover.

Get an off road and add katzkin leather. It will be cheaper and give you everything you're looking for.

You cannot get leather in an Off Road or a Sunroof in the Pro but you can always get some nice covers for the seats in an Off Road.

Pro it is then I guess ..
I remember in my 4Runner days , if you wanted a locker then you almost had to get a limited...

I've had a locking dif the last 15 years and it has earned its keep several times ... went from the runners to 2nd gen off road awhile back.. Great powertrain , but I miss the plush interior ..

    Thanks guys

I was facing same ? few weeks back. It was between an OR, Pro or Limited. I got thinking. You know I really don't off road that much any more. Don't really like wheels on Pro an again don't off road any more. So Limited it was for me. Has most of extras an is just fine with me.

Most sensible way. If the Pro was as easily obtainable as the OR was, there would be no exclusivity or there would be need for another trim level to trump the Pro package. OR w/locker and leather seat covers as shakerhood mentioned.

So an OR with a moonroof and add my own leather ..
The pro doesn't come in quicksand and no moonroof available...

That would probably be the best option.

My wife and I wanted a long bed in manual but since that doesn't exist we ended up with the OR long bed and added Clazzio covers. Couldn't be happier--unless they offered a 5spd long bed... with a diesel. The Katskins look nice but at more than twice the price of the Clazzios I couldn't justify it. Nobody that has ridden in the truck believes they aren't factory leather. I'm pretty dang picky and my expectations were exceeded. Do some reading here and compare but for me the Clazzios hit it out of the park.

Pro is cool but over priced (well they all are) and too expensive, or is sweet but do you really need it? Most people that buy a or don't need it and I wonder why they actually choose that model tbh.
Limited has everything you need and blows the other models away with the interior. The upgraded jbl is amazing and doesn't need to be changed at all.
I got the limited and wouldn't change it for any other

You can add an oem or (cheaper) aftermarket moonroof, just ask the sales manager who does their aftermarket installs for a better price direct, and if he's a cool stealer he'll tell you.
As for the seats, idk of anyone who does it better than Katzkin for the price, many dealers install it. Offroad and pro are the only one with locker I believe so I'd get the offroad, the pro is too hard to find and too much dough. It be a different story if it came with a V-8!

    Cheers!
