I was just told that basically even though i live in a region that is approved my truck does not qualify right now because nothing shows up for the VIN. I have a US truck that was imported from a southern state to Canada since 2008.

Guess I just sit and wait till my VIN shows up on the list...

For some reason there are a lot of us without the recall and have the same common rust areas. Seems common around the driver and passanger side cats. If you have the frame rust and perforation in those areas make sure Toyota knows about it. Call headquarters the number is 1800 331 4331. The more people complain and get case #s the more reason to open the recall to other vins.

Just got my recall letter in the mail yesterday, so I guess Kentucky was initiated !! Pretty happy with my Toyota experience thus far. Yes, it does suck that I even have to go through this, but I'm glad they are taking the initiative to correct the problem. The simple fact that I bought the truck used with 145k miles on it and Toyota still keeps me up to date on recalls an such is impressive. They basically tracked me down to give me this letter. Toyota will continue getting my business.

Going to try & schedule my truck to be inspected on Friday. I think mine is fine, at least it was at the last oil change I did in the garage, less than 2000 miles ago... lol

Are they coating the entire frame, or just portions of it? Is the dealer doing the work, or are they outsourcing to a place like LineX?

Sorry, don't have time to read 23 pages of posts...I was simply wanting to know if the dealer sprayed it or someone else did the work. I've got appointment next week to have mine looked at, so I'll find out then and won't have to trouble you for the info... lol

They spray it at the dealer. It is not a hard coating like linex, it is like black tar. It is called Noxudul 300
