Hey, I'm looking at buying my first Tacoma, a 2021 TRD Sport. Trying to learn all about it and determine if the limited-slip differential is a clutch-driven or gear-driven style. Anyone know?

Wasn't considering the Off-Road model, since I'm not planning to rock-crawl or go that far off-road. Just want a good reliable daily driver for Seattle's rainy roads and snowy mountain passes. And a good-looking truck to haul my mountain bikes, maybe tow a small Tab or R-pod camper possibly.

    Thanks!

Tacoma doesn't have a limited slip diff. It is an open diff that behaves to some extend like a limited slip diff through brake actuation (basically breaks are applied to the slipping wheel, which directs the power to the other wheel). It works best on OR and Pro, as the system is controlled by electric motors (servos) which allows the computer to control the breaks and wheel slippage very precisely. In other models it is vacuum controlled, and so the computer has a less precise control.
